A few people in the chat last night were hoping to be sold on this book. I actually had to duck out shortly after I called in, so I'm curious: did anyone's opinion change after the discussion last night?
I'll be honest. It is very hard to follow chat during episode. I skim it but can't really follow completely. Maybe some people could comment on here? Let us know thoughts post show
I think the general feeling is that there are some excellent qualities to the book but that in general it could benefit from a very good editor.
I'm considering reading the second book after the listening to the show. I had a tough time getting through the first one but after listening to the author answer some questions I'll probably give this burning world a shot.
As I read the first book, and noticed some of the stylistic and writing choices that I didn't like, I was wondering if those would be less noticeable, and that I would be able to focus more on the story. SciFiNow, did you read the first book, or listen to it? If the former, you might appreciate the second one more in audio format.

1. Can we all agree Jim screwed up majority with the list? Do you feel his actions redeemed himself.
2. Similar to 1. Are you happy with his heroe's quest?
3. Did Eric surprise anyone else? I kept expecting him to be a rich kid screw up.
4. The prologue introduced to Troy. How did you feel about Troy? Ruthless assassin or heroe?
5. Do you think spoilers are born evil and champions good or is it a result of their powers?
6. Would you have like to see more clearly defined powers like x-men or did you prefer general abilities?
7. Did you feel park was to trusting of Jim and the fact that he would be a champion?
8. My favorite. Cast this movie
