Kayla Duff I saw this article on a new book about dragons thats supposed to come out next summer, though I don't know who it's by. Here's the summary, copied from the article:
Ice Blue is a story of love, realization, and dragons. A seventeen year old girl named Allissa is working at a scientific base in Antarctica, where she is helping analyze and ice core and working on a secret project, by her own choice. One day she finds a small blue orb, which hatched in her hand upon being picked up. It's a dragon, colored ice blue and not any taller than three centimeters. She tries to communicate with it and eventually learns its language, then gets a call from her boss the next morning saying that the dig has been canceled due to small biting reptiles that had put three team members in serious medical conditions after being bitten. She interrogated her small dragon, and finds out that his 'hatching' caused a chain reaction and now there are hundreds of these small but dangerous dragons trying to take over the human race, by using the venom of select dragons to render humans helpless. Her secret project is the only way to stop them, but she will have to give up her true friend in order to save the world. She'll have to put the ice blue dragon back in the ice.
How does it sound??? I think it's pretty interesting. How about you guys?

Its like a kids book rght? full of fold-out pamphlets, maps, diagrams, letters, and other intriguing odds and ends, such as a patch of simulated dragon skin.

well it is an illustrated tour of the most interesting peoples, places, and things of Eragon’s world. Eragon narrates the book himself, and if you pay close attention to what he says, you might catch a few hints about where the series is headed. -CP

~♥Alyssa♥~ (lyssie123) | 592 comments Oh!!!! My new favorite dragon books are a trilogy by Jessica Day George!!!!! They're so awesome!!! The first one is Dragon Slippers, then Dragon Flight, then Dragon Spear. I don't think boys would like them, but if you're a younger teen girl that likes fantasy, they're really good.

Jerry | 24 comments Another great dragon series, a bit older but still good, Dealing with dragons. Searching for dragons. Calling on Dragons and Talking to Dragons.
These books are written by Patricia C. Wrede. The first two are very good and I haven't gotten around to the last two. It's a bit difficult to find them.
I know wikepedia isn't the greatest but this one's not bad... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Searchin...

~♥Alyssa♥~ (lyssie123) | 592 comments Oh, I've read a book or two by Patricia C. Wrede! I loved her. Those look good.

message 23: by Jerry (new)

Jerry | 24 comments They are very interesting, and they take you back to more sleeping beauty style dragons instead of war dragons as they have become by now.

message 24: by ~♥Alyssa♥~ (new)

~♥Alyssa♥~ (lyssie123) | 592 comments Sorry, I don't quite understand - "Sleeping Beauty style dragons?" *confused*

message 25: by Jerry (new)

Jerry | 24 comments How the dragons aren't bred for war or used as soldiers, they guard princesses. Like when the dragon guards sleeping beauty. (i know, I'm a real dork by comparing excellent literature to an old disney cartoon)

~♥Alyssa♥~ (lyssie123) | 592 comments Oh, ok, I get it! And I love Disney Princess movies, lol!

pffft, just because you're a guy doesn't mean you can't love Disney Princess movies. ;D

message 29: by Kayla (new)

Kayla Duff Well, this would be a good time to crack the ice. You can't find it's listing anywhere because it is not being published yet. I haven't decided whether it is to be published or not because I want your opinions on it, but it is my own novel and I do want it to get published. I thought up the storyline and I'm 14,782 words into. Or around that number.

message 30: by ~♥Alyssa♥~ (new)

~♥Alyssa♥~ (lyssie123) | 592 comments Oh, I saw the movie "How to Train Your Dragon," and I LOVED IT!!! It was my favorite movie this year so far! I liked it more than my little brother... Maybe I'm wierd.

Anyway, Nightpaw, I didn't know that you were writing that book you told us about! And it sounds really interesting! I kind of like modern-day fantasy/sci-fi.

message 31: by Kayla (new)

Kayla Duff Are you sure you're not just saying that so as not to hurt my feelings? If it sucks, just tell me. I can handle it. If you're sincere though, thanks! A lot of people at school make fun of me for it.

message 32: by Graziella (new)

Graziella (grazia) | 664 comments You should try and publish it. It doesn't hurt to try.

People at school are probably jealous of it anyhow. :)

No! It really sounds good! It sounds original, and I like the sci-fi part, and how it's in modern days. Those people at school don't know what they're talking about.
