I am uncertain about starting the year about a book with domestic abuse. I am expecting something unsettling at first, which makes me hesitant about reading the book.

Read a few non-book club books first. Nothing says you have to read this book this month or ever. I have skipped book club selections that were potential triggers for me.

Hi Dawn - Agree with Julie. There may be books you don't want to read in the club, and that's ok. You read what's right for you, when it's right for you.

My libby wait was too long. I bought the book for the 2.99 price tag thru Amazon Kindle. I am curious how the Audible compares.
