Nalani THERE WILL BE SPOILERS!!!! For all the readers that completed EoD: Get your feels out, brag or criticize the book. PLEASE BE NICE TO EACH OTHER, EVERYONE'S OPINION MATTERS!!

Katerina Kondrenko No spoiler tags, only hardcore?)

Nalani Whatever you want. I just put up the spoiler warning for all those who haven't read EoD yet.

Katerina Kondrenko Ooookay, I wanna start with Beliel. Guys, did you fall for this tough boy on steroids?) 'Cause I did and you know I am still saaad =( Why no one rescue him, he also could bring his wife back with magic trick by angel sword =((

Esha Katerina wrote: "Ooookay, I wanna start with Beliel. Guys, did you fall for this tough boy on steroids?) 'Cause I did and you know I am still saaad =( Why no one rescue him, he also could bring his wife back with m..."

Beliel broke my heart. Really. I was racked with so much emotion for him I didn't think I would be capable of. His story man. Hell was not easy on him and I cannot believe he's gone! I mean we finally get to know him and he leaves us like that! That is very hurtful.

Nalani In the second book I was kind of likening him for protecting Paige. Now I was truly sympathetic for him. Who knew that one of my most hated characters turned out to be the one I cared for the most?

Katerina Kondrenko Exactly, girls! And I looved his dark sense of humor. And loyalty to Raffe in the Pit, no matter what. And how he willingly lets his friends out and lives a loooong painful life for their freedom. Amazing character. Yes, its Raffe's sacrifice which saved and people and angels but first was Beliel's sacrifice.

Nalani So which team are you on? Raffe or Beliel?

Katerina Kondrenko Don't push me!)))) I like both of them. But Raffe's kinda lucky man while Beliel's not =(

Nalani You are just too funny. :-D

Katerina wrote: "Exactly, girls! And I looved his dark sense of humor. And loyalty to Raffe in the Pit, no matter what. And how he willingly lets his friends out and lives a loooong painful life for their freedom. ..."

All this stuff is kindof a harsh truth, isn't it?!
I mean I am 100% agreeing with you how it was first Beliel's sacrifice and then Raffe's and yet Raffe is a lucky man. I mean Raffe is awesome, but yeah Beliel deserves better.
I don't think its easy to decide between Raffe and Beliel because of their starkly different circumstances. For me, it's a tie.

Katerina Kondrenko Esha wrote: I don't think its easy to decide between Raffe and Beliel because of their starkly different circumstances. For me, it's a tie.

That's what I think too. And when I was reading Angelfall I never thought that I'd cry if this Night Angel will die. I love when I can't predict such a things. Unpredictability is the best!))

Susan Ee is magical like that!

Nalani She is a very talented writer. In every single book I was applauded her writing.

message 15: by Esha (new) - rated it 5 stars

Esha Yup. The way she balances action, and romance and horror is just great. She has a great imagination too. I mean, the story even though had the angel touch to it it was quite unique.

message 16: by Niharika (new)

Niharika I agree with what you guys have said so far but what really irked me was how the ending felt rushed. There were far too many unanswered questions and quite a lot of deus ex machinas. Raffe's immortality was never questioned and him giving up his wings felt a bit far fetched. The romance in this book was okay, but it felt forced and cookie cutter. I loved their chemistry in Angelfall and World After but here it was all angst and not the Raffryn we're used to. Anyone agree?

Katerina Kondrenko Niharika wrote: "I agree with what you guys have said so far but what really irked me was how the ending felt rushed. There were far too many unanswered questions and quite a lot of deus ex machinas. Raffe's immort..."

Kind of. I wanted them together and I'm glad they are but I wanna more details, more explanations and more interrogations in the future. As I said in my review - I'd keep them in my heart just like that: young, beautiful and enamored. Because when I think about their future I see how Penryn grows old and dies while Raffe isn't.

message 18: by Esha (new) - rated it 5 stars

Esha For me to say that I'm not satisfied with the ending would be a lie. I am very very happy that she ended the book like that. I mean I do respect everybody's opinion but in my defense I'd like to say that I personally was interested in reading about Pen's story. I know how readers connected with all the other characters, the angels, and the fallen or the world in general. As I kept my belief in the fact that I concern myself only with Penryn, I feel content.

Natalie Hello Party People :D (did you realize that Penryn also says Penryn Party in the book xD)
So for me it wasn't perfect either but I love the book nonetheless and am in emotional turmoil which is why you'll see me posting a lot (of nonsense) to cope sorry in advance. :D
Ok you guys so during the talent show when everyone was singing a pop song after Hallelujah which one do you think they sang?
If we go by publication date of Angelfall it has to be a song from 2011 or a little earlier so I googled a little bit for songs with lyrics everyone kinda knows from 2009-2011 and here are my favorites to chant while waiting to wreak havoc on the angels:
Edge of Glory - Lady Gaga
Party in the U.S.A- Miley Cyrus
Gives You Hell- All American Rejects
F you-Cee Lo Green (I see you flying round town with the archangel I love and I'm like f youuuriel)

Katerina Kondrenko Natalie wrote: "Hello Party People :D (did you realize that Penryn also says Penryn Party in the book xD)"

The first association!))

Katerina Kondrenko Ok you guys so during the talent show when everyone was singing a pop song after Hallelujah which one do you think they sang?

Hope, not Biber's song XD Hope this guys wasn't the Biber himself. So... my guess it was something from Madonna or Gaga or even Rihanna)

Natalie Big no to the Biebz xD but nonetheless the scene was amazing and I was all like: hell yeah humans! You go humans!

Nalani I cried burning the talent show chapters.

message 24: by Esha (new) - rated it 5 stars

Esha Yup talent show part was actually the heart of the book, those few chapters I was glued to the book and the amount of human-ness and emotion from those chapters was very breathtaking

message 25: by Lynn (last edited May 16, 2015 07:11AM) (new) - rated it 3 stars

Lynn I have to agree with you Niharika that there was too much glossed over in the end for me to be completely satisfied. How does a non-aging immortal and aging mortal romance work? I don't think it does long term unfortunately. That's probably the biggest issue I had but I also wonder about Raffe and what he was thinking during the time in between telling Penryn goodbye, supposedly forever, and seeing her again. Would he have gone through with the challenge if Penryn hadn't been there? What was he experiencing thinking in that time? He couldn't have been that surprised to hear her announcement to the angels challenging them the way she did.

I still think the series is great but I think how I feel about the end will ultimately depend on if Susan Ee gives us more from this world in the future or not. I need a bit more to be completely satisfied.

Niharika Lynn wrote: "I have to agree with you Niharika that there was too much glossed over in the end for me to be completely satisfied. How does a non-aging immortal and aging mortal romance work? I don't think it ..."

Lynn, I am pleased with how Penryn and Raffe's story came to an end, but I just wish that we had some more insight on the future. I can only dream that Susan Ee at least releases a novella or companion book. I agree with Katerina that I'll only be seeing them them as they are now just so I don't ruin the series for myself. I can easily say that this series was among one of my favorites.

Nalani Guys I'm at the RT Booklovers con. and I meet Susan and she personalized the Trilogy for me. XD.

Nalani I know. It pays to live in Austin when the Convention is on Dallas.

Natalie So.Jealous! No one ever comes to where I live :(

Niharika wrote: "I agree with what you guys have said so far but what really irked me was how the ending felt rushed. There were far too many unanswered questions and quite a lot of deus ex machinas. Raffe's immort..."
I agree that Raffryn did change :/ but I just keep telling myself that they both know how doomed they should be, that they probably realize that in no way this could end in their favor plus I think Raffe has his internal aha moments and the more we get into EoD he stops fighting his feelings. They both are desperate because they realize how much they want to be with the other person but see no way that it'll work out, so that's where I think the angst came from: wanting to be together versus trying to not get too lost in the other person/trying to detach from that person that means so much, because they think at that moment that it's hopeless to even imagine a possible future together

Okay, you're officially my favorite person for that explanation. I do still think they changed but your explanation helps me stay in denial and not ruin this series for myself <3

Natalie Yay glad to hear that :D and this is basically my explanation for some of the too angsty Raffryn stuff plus: who wouldn't change during such dark times? Heck if I would've been in Penryns position I would've used every chance I got to cozy up to my air taxi :P (especially because who knows if you survive in the end or not) plus I think it was make up smooching for not having a single kiss in World After although that beach scene is my favorite of the whole series it's just amazingly written and full of emotions...

message 34: by Madeline (new) - added it

Madeline I just finished the book (I started today) and I am having such a hard time dealing with my emotions. I've been waiting so long for this book to come out, and it's almost surreal to believe that there will never be any more Raffe or Penryn. Honestly, the ending felt kind of rushed to me, but that might be because I finished the whole book in one sitting, and my mind is currently trying to process all this information I just read. GAH. Also, can someone explain that time travel thing with Beliel though? If they used him as a portal and he was going through hell (literally) how was he there in the previous books? The Raffryn scenes killed me though. *Fans self*

I think Uriel freed him in exchange for a hunting Raffe. Or (since he became an archdemon) he went to the Earth 'cause he wanted to and no one could stop him.

Welcome to the World After reading End of Days.

Ok I hope I can explain the whole Pit thing so: they travelled to the past and brought the Watchers back to the Present. Beliel stayed behind and went on his own journey until at some point he got out and ended up in our world. So while the Watchers landed directly in the future (for them) Beliels history still played out normal meaning that while the others just jumped to the present he didn't time travel he "grew up" normal and at some point in time he got out of the pit so that's why he was in the previous books: he was finally free of the pit (ok hope that makes some sense time travel can be confusing at times)

message 39: by Madeline (new) - added it

Madeline Okay, thank you guys! That makes a lot more sense xD

Jess S Did it occur to anyone else that Penryn could have been a descendant of one of the fallen Watchers? What do you think?

Nalani I have always had that theory. I was hoping that Gabriel would come and make a big show and Raffe would show respect while Paige runs into his arms cheering "Daddy!" Pen, on the other hand, will just stand there thinking that she finely having her mother's keen ability to see her "personal demons." Then out of the blue Gabriel says to Raffe, " Why are up banging my daughter?" Raffe goes red, Pen gets pissed, and doth are silent. Unfortunately that never happens. I would have loved to see it play out. *sighs to self*

Fafiliebe ♥ Warner ♥ Raffe ♥ i need more raffe and penryn..
i can't believe it is over
it was so rushed to me, the action was amazing but i need more raffe and penryn, i need raffe to say that he loves penryn.. say the damn words.. i love this series very much :'( it is over and i am not over it.. i don't make sense and i don't care.. i love them <3

i wanted to know penryn's dad
i was hoping that penryn is a nephillum
i still don't know why the mom is crazy

i think that the story could have taken one more book, bcz this book had overflowing info and action that could be divided in to two books..

i really loved beliel, i hoped that he was kinda related to penryn, for example she was one of his nephillum line.

Katerina Kondrenko Fafiliebe ♥ Prince Maxon ♥ Raffe ♥ wrote: i still don't know why the mom is crazy

There's nothing supernatural in her decease - it's schizophrenia.

And I agree, I wanna more swoon moments! I wanna full declaration of love not just a sweet-nothings with guesses.

Fafiliebe ♥ Warner ♥ Raffe ♥ yes i need more.. i love that it is a clean read, but for example in the selection series the last book it was a clean read but the declaration made my heart melt, i still melt thinking of it (view spoiler)

i just need more, i was pinning for 5 books of this series, 5 books of raffe, and i was cut short to 3 .. that is not healthy

Fafiliebe ♥ Warner ♥ Raffe ♥ when is this going out as a movie.. i think that might heal some of my wounds :D

Wow, yes! I loved the ending of Selection series as well while I was kinda bored with the second book and the most of the third one. The ending was... you, my heart knows what are talking about!) In EoD case my heart had started to melt and then it all was over =( Movie... yes, please, and sooner, I don't wanna let go Raffryn.

Fafiliebe ♥ Warner ♥ Raffe ♥ yes it started to melt, then its over.. why do writers rush at the end of the book.. i hate it... i mean the feelsss i need the feelsssss

Nalani It's ok. I know exactly how you feel. I know it's over but life isn't a problem to be solved, it's adventure to be lived.

Natalie I'm baaaaaaack xD ok so I want a movie but I also don't want a movie because I imagined all the scenes really vividly in my head and I don't want to be disappointed and even more important my biggest fear is that they will cast someone just for the looks and not for ability plus I rather wait for the movie instead of it being rushed and getting things wrong :(

Courtney Lee I finished EoD the same day I started it. I seriously just flew through it. Anyway, I thought it was an awesome read. I did find the ending a bit rushed though. And I do find it a little frustrating that some things were left unexplained. I think the whole raffe immortal/penryn mortal thing was my biggest issue going into this book. I just didnt see how they could end up together without one of them becoming either mortal or immortal. And now that Ive read the book I cant help but think 'what will happen to raffe when penryn grows old and dies? The main reason he gave up his wings and stayed in the human world was so he could be with penryn. But all of that didnt lessen my enjoyment of the book. I still feel like this trilogy would have been better with maybe one more book which could have helped solve this mortal/immortal thing.

Anyway, my favourite scene was most definitely the Talent Show scene. That scene just had me laughing in hysterics while freaking out in hysterics.

Movie - i actually think this series would be better off as a tv show. I know that with the book sizes these books can suit a movie form really well but story- wise i think it suits a tv show alot better. The story isnt too complicated so they'd be able to add in storylines without having to cut any parts of the main storyline. Then there is also the pros of better character development and more of RAFFE! Im imagining something similar to The 100, only more apocalyptic and stays true to the main storyline while adding in a few others. For eg: we could have a full ep where penryn and raffe have to deal with those kid canibal things along the way to the aerie instead of just seeing those half eaten bodies on the road. And the first entire ep could be about how penryn tries to get her family out of the city and have a cliffie where an angel (raffe) falls out of the sky and she ends up helping him.

As you can see Ive thought alot about the possibility of a tv show. I think Im kind of over movie adaptations. Lately every single book to movie adaptation have just flopped dramatically.
