Welcome to 2026, a time to reflect and think about the fresh year to come. What will be your first book of the year?

Kathleen | 559 comments My first book of the new year was “Why Do I Do What I Don’t Want To Do?: Replace Deadly Vices with Life-Giving Virtues”by Jonathan “JP” Pokluda with Jon Green. I gave it 5 stars…a great start to the year!

sounds like a great start Kathleen!!

I just finished The Spoon Stealer - it was a secret sender read. It was not only great fiction but a lesson on making a positive difference and kindness too!! Thanks to @AllisonHikes for a great read!!!

Kathleen | 559 comments The Spoon Stealer is great! My Secret Sender a few years ago gifted it to me and I loved it.

Kathleen - have you read The Spirit of Scatarie? I read this one before Christmas and really enjoyed it as well. I will be searching out more of her books!

Has anyone read Theo of Golden? it is a wonderful book.., full of kindness, hope, generosity. it is one of the best books that I have read in a while.

I have finished it and now that I know the end, am actually reading it again to understand all the connections better.
