My favourite Austen is probably Persuasion, Kate, although I of course appreciate both P&P and Emma.

I started Имя розы by Umberto Eco for a book club - also a reread.

I have read and reread that novel of Umberto Eco. So much to understand with the second read, don't you think?

Oh! I love The Name of the Rose! I would love a reread but it is quite long.

Northanger Abbey is the only Jane Austen I've never read. I'd love to get to it this year.

P&P and Persuasion are my favorites, but everything by Austen is worth reading!

A Discovery of Witches looks like it could be a good complex read! . .I have read the first of the witch series of Discworld. That was complex world there too:)

I switched from A Discovry of Witches to Theogony (which I have just finished) for this prompt. I doubt I'll be able to cover all the prompts in the remaining time, but maybe one more is doable

It looks like you have made some great pre-readathon progress, Lamilla! Hope you're able to participate this weekend.

Lamilla, we will do what we can to finish the challenge. I always give myself time into a cool down week. Even if we do not have an official week, I will ride the wave of the reading party high, riding the the wave back to regular reading land.

It does! I really enjoyed author's talk on the subject. So far the book reads more like history rather than horror. For example, the whole chapter is dedicated to research who is really the author and how the understanding of it changed with time :D

Not much reading during the readathon. I was able to participate in some discussion threads and 1 reading sprint. I'll continue through the long weekend

For the summer read, I altered it to be about something about the summer
Woodstock is a famous/infamous rock concert in the summer of 1969. Janis Joplin played there. So I read a biography of Janis Joplin. I really had to stretch it there :) You can too!

Doctor Who audios got me through two more challenges

I saw that you were reading them :) I will pick up another book next week. I am behind at our SFF club.

I missed the activities part. Here it is.

1. Answer the Question Posed in the Pre-Readathon thread: Suggest Books for Readathon Fun - DONE

2. Wear a reading/thinking cap for an hour as you read. If you have no hat or cap, fashion a crown from cardboard or fashion some kind of head covering.

3. Reach out on personal thread someone you have never visited with or have rarely visited with here at Dewey's.

4. Sip your favorite drink while reading for an hour.

5. Read 50 pages from a book you plan to read during the official hours of the readathon - Книготорговец из Кабула DONE

6. Record a quote from a book into Goodreads Quotes.

I checked the dates for the next readathon, it's 3AM for me. I'll read Saturday and Sunday instead

I am following you in picking off another thing on pre-reathon activities list. Having put on my thinking cap, a cardboard crown from Burger King a fastfood restaurant that gives out cardboard crowns to anyone who wants them.
