Thanks for the invite to the team and making the thread! I am usually around but my son had an appointment which delayed me checking back into GR earlier. I like Questing Quills the best but also truly fine with any team name.

Thats sweet! Im on Long Island. I wouldn't mind but next month im going to be in Australia so thats two full days of traveling and a major time difference. I wouldn't be able to update. Ill leave it up to everyone to decide.

Hi, I am from Minnesota and am in CST.

Questing Quills works for me. I am cool with Elizabeth being Captain/Guardian if it doesn't stress her out with her vacation time. I am also willing to pinch hit for the days she is gone if it helps out.

I am fine with being Guardian if no one else wants to do it. Also fine with being a backup or helping in any way. It sounds like this will be similar to the Ghostbusters challenge we finished last month, Carrie. Basically everyone chooses a task they want to read for. One person per task.

I'm over in Finland, so also operating in a very different timezone, GMT+2. Happy with whoever is willing to take the Guardian role, I'll be pretty busy running our other big team challenges SS/SSS at the same time, so I can't offer to take it on.

If you would be guardian that would be great. I just don't want to commit with me knowing I have plans coming. Everyone is checked in & I changed the name for you. So the floor is all yours.

No problem. I will possibly edit message 3 if we need it. I checked our team name in and let Donna know we have all checked in.

👑 “A crown with power, a secret society, and a library that chooses its own heroes.”

In Season 1, Episode 1 of The Librarians, a mysterious organization recruits a new Guardian, Eve Baird, to protect the magical Library and its chosen Librarian, Flynn Carsen. Together, they investigate a series of strange murders linked to Excalibur and the lost crown of King Arthur. Along the way, they discover a hidden group of potential Librarians and face off against the Serpent Brotherhood, who seek to unleash dangerous magic.

Does anyone have a preference on task? I have an upcoming book with a crown on the cover but am happy to take any of them.

I am fine with any tasks - I do have to read if no one else wants that task.

Obviously would work for a character named Arthur as well.

I can take 🧑Read a book with a character named EVE or FLYNN, or ARTHUR, could probably find something for any of the others as well though.

I don't think the challenge has actually started yet. I would hate for your book not to count!

The Librarians: Team Registration & Setup thread has the start date, 15 January. We'll have to hold off for a bit, unfortunately. :(

In the Q and A I asked and this is the answer I got a couple days ago:

The challenge technically kicks off on the 15th—but since it’s self-paced, early birds get a perk! Teams who’ve already checked in and received their tasks are free to start right away

I think that completion format is fine Elizabeth. It gives all the info that is needed.

Yup thats why I decided to start the book asap. I have a lot of books to read this week particularly. Idk if we need to have a link to our review as well. Let me know I can include it if its needed.

And the Sword in the Stone

🗡️ “When Camelot stirs, legends awaken—and the past is far from buried.”

The Serpent Brotherhood is close to unleashing unchecked magic on the world. Flynn, mortally wounded by Excalibur, flees with Eve and the new recruits (Jake, Ezekiel, and Cassandra). They meet Jenkins at the hidden Library Annex, which becomes their new base. To stop the Brotherhood’s ritual under Buckingham Palace, they infiltrate a royal ball, recover Excalibur, and ultimately save Flynn when Cassandra uses the sword’s magic to heal him instead of herself. Flynn departs to restore the missing Library, leaving the new Librarians to begin their own journey under Jenkins’s guidance.

That works for me. The MC in my current book is at a school to learn how to be a mage and just found a mentor. Hopefully there will be more than one student the mentor works with.

Nice. That makes it easy.
