Two Point Tasks

2.1 The Lottery

GO to THE LOTTERY thread for details

2.2 Two Holidays
Read 2 Books

1. January 25th is Burns Night
Read a book set in Scotland.

2. January 26th is Australia Day
Read a book set in Australia.

2.3 (Pat's Task) Health Scare
Read 2 Books

My husband was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma recently.
I am very grateful for MD Anderson Clinic, but the drive was absolutely brutal since we live in the Oklahoma City area and had to go to Houston, Texas every week for five weeks. We basically spent the entire month of December either driving TO Houston, Texas; FROM Houston,Texas; IN Houston,Texas; Packing to GO to Houston, Texas or Unpacking AFTER Houston,Texas. So as you can imagine, Texas has been a big part of my entire world for the past month.
It's also a BIG city in a BIG state.

1. Read a book either set in Texas or by an author who was either born in or currently lives in Texas.
BONUS: If the book is set in OR the author hails from Houston.

2. Read a book with a word (4 letters minimum) in the title that can be made from the phrase in MD ANDERSON HOUSTON TEXAS (Anderson, Houston and Texas are disqualified as words for this task). Letters may be used only as many times as they appear in the target phrase.
*******
PS. So far, hubby is doing well, and his doctor is very optimistic for a full remission. I am not a worrier, because worry is simply praying for what you don't to happen. This is and has always been in God's hands, and we are both comfortable with however (s) he decides to handle it

2.4 (Amber's Task) Finish What You Started
Read 2 Books

Choose one series you have already started and read the next two books. Whether it's Books 2 & 3 or 5 & 6 or any other combination just keep reading forward.

Three Points Tasks

3.1 (Amber's Task) New Year, New You
To me one of the best parts of a new year is a clean slate.
I love being able to feel good about starting over on any goals I might have that I still need to achieve as a fresh start.
Read 3 Books

1. Read a book with an author that is new to you.
2. Read the first book of a series you have not read before but is on your TBR.
3. Read a book with "NEW" in the title or where the first letter of each word in the title can be found in NEW YEAR.

3.2 (Pat's Task) Year of the Horse - you knew it was coming, right?
Read 3 Books

Task 1 - 2026 ushers in the Year of the Horse in the Chinese Zodiac.
Read a book by an author of Asian ethnicity.
BONUS: if you read translated from an Asian language.

Task 2 - This will also be the Year of the FIRE Horse.
Read a book that you'd call "hot"
Example: A romance or a book published in the last six months, since that's when our library moves them to the regular stacks. Otherwise, I leave the definition of "hot" up to you. If you say it's "hot", it is.

Task 3 - Technically, the Chinese New Year does not start until February 17, so I'm jumping the gun just a bit.
Read a book that was published in February of any year. For this task use the edition you actually read (or listen to) not necessary the first publication date.
-OR-
Read a book that has 3 of the numbers in the date for February 17, 2026 - (2,1,7,2,0,2,6) in the page count. The numbers may appear in any order, but you can only use them as many times as they appears in the numerical date ...
BONUS: Read a book that fits BOTH of these options.
