Friday night
I have started and finished We're Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen. I watched and heard the book being read at MaxKeane channel in You Tube. A rhetorical delight! If you love words, sound, meaning, this small child's book may be for you💛
I have finished book I started yesterday: Why I Love New Orleans: A Collection of Blogs a collection of 30 blog posts by Heather Graham. I am familiar with some of these locations and topics. Nice to revisit and to imagine another visit to NOLA. After the third mobility surgery, it may become possible that I go!
I have just started a graphic novel about Hurricane Katrina: :Drowned City: Hurricane Katrina and New Orleans by Don Brown . Here sepia and umber tones and colors with these undertones indicate some of the story.

Good idea, Cynda.Friday Night
I finished my re-read of an Erotica romance, Slow Heat - love this book and its sequel. Probably won't start the sequel tonight as I want to go to bed soon unfortunately, it's almost 1 am
And I finished the Audiobook of the new all cast edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's stone. Still prefer the Jim Dale, and will do the second with him, then my pre-order of all cast with Prisoner of Azkaban, but the rest I'll keep as Jim Dale versions.
I have finished The Democracy Project: A History, a Crisis, a Movement which is about the author's involvement with the Occupy movement. And Frequently Asked Questions about the Universe which is a physicist and cartoonist providing brief answers to the titular questions. Fun and accessible! I learned a lot.
I'm trying to be more disciplined about processing each book before I move onto the next one, so I'm also writing reviews (lengthier than the above, but you guys are trying to read!) :)
First book down! It's a re-read so I can read the second book.
When Among Crows
I gave this four stars the first time I read it (kindle) and it's at least that with the audiobook read, too (the audiobook was really well done!) Body horror is generally not my thing at all, but the story is worth it.

Accessible, Doni? Good to know. There are some accessible and less accessible books by Neil deGrasse Tyson. Have you read any of his books?
Good night, Erin, see you tomorrow. I must turn in too.
Sometimes a second read is well worth the time. Good for you Alix!

Cyberkiss by Sally Chapman 3/1 2.5-3★
Cyber-stalking, bio-tech & murder, set in Silicon Valley & published in 1996. The technology may be a bit dated but the murder isn't. One method of killing gave me the chills - tampons infected with lethal bacteria but looking pristine in their packets, arghh!
Cynda wrote: "Accessible, Doni? Good to know. There are some accessible and less accessible books by Neil deGrasse Tyson. Have you read any of his books?"I've read Origins: Fourteen Billion Years of Cosmic Evolution It was only so-so. I enjoyed Frequently Asked Questions a lot more.
Woah, that's really twisted!!Catsalive wrote: "

I finished my reread of HP and the Goblet of Fire, got 25% done with Killer Instinct (The Naturals #2) by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, and 54% done with The Time Machine by HG Wells. I going to call it a night, because it's 4am for me, and we'll see what tomorrow brings!
Off to a slow start (well a non start really) but will get some reading done today.Read a very short story
The Last Father-Daughter Dance: A Short StorySweet and short,
Read Season of Death by Will Thomas - and historical mystery. Now moving on to Stone and Sky by Ben Aaronovitch. I think Im in the mood for some fantasy
I finished an audio book was reading.
The Stranger in Her House - 52 pagesI like this author a lot but this one had too many twists and things rolled into it. It was entertaining and I rated it 3 stars.

Death Flight by Sarah Sultoon 4/1 3★

Finished On the Calculation of Volume I by Solvej Balle. Different time issues are discussed--time loops, repetition of time cycles--and descriptions of ghosts and monsters. Monsters have volume/take up space. 31/2 Stars, good enough to continue on to part 2 of the series.
I finished To Clutch a Razor tonight and now I'm working on The Fault in Our Stars. Not sure I'll finish that or the annotating I'm doing for Wings of Starlight before 8pm, but I should hopefully make good progress off and on through the day. Side note: I feel like I could eat pumpkin bread/muffins every day and not get tired of it.
I finished
. I thought I liked it but after I slept on it, I didn't like it as much as I thought I did. I'm not good at finding hidden meanings in books lol.
I just finished If Found, Return to Hell by Em X. Liu. I hadn‘t planned to read this novella this weekend, but my reading buddies did. So I tagged along! It was cute.
I finished The Killings at Kingfisher Hill last night, stayed awake to do so. I was then at 17 hours of reading. The last two 24 in 48 I've done (this one and the YuleSpirit Readathon in December), I've surprised myself with book completions, reading accomplished, and hours read. I think I've found a newly developed skill (including increased focus and perseverance).😊
I finished a few short books yesterday and would recommend them all:
- fictionalized account of 2 young men committing crimes in Canada, focused on their relationship - outstanding!
- 3 short stories translated from the Japanese during WWII
- novel based on a young women's experience with mental illness
- a women who is part of a commune dies, exploring the relationships leading up to the death, translated from the Dutch
by Abraham Verghese - a young man loses his father at the age of 13, coming of age short story, impactful

So many good books! I have on my list of possibilities
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and Abscond by Abraham Verghese. Maybe another readathon.

I read a Hoopla Borrow:
On my phone, so I can’t link titles AND I’ve been sick since Saturday morning! But, fortunately, not so sick that I couldn’t read! YAY! I started and finished Woman on the Edge by Samantha Bailey and would highly recommend if you enjoy psychological thrillers that aren’t too scary! (At least in my opinion!)Continuing with a reread of Eberything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng. So I will have read about 350 pages this weekend and am glad for that!!
Hoping everyone else is healthier than I am and got to read as much as you wanted over the weekend!!
Thanks for creating and hosting this event!
I hope everyone feeling unwell gets better ASAP!I didn't finish anything else today, so I'm ending at 2 (short) books read, 53% of The Fault in Our Stars & annotating 40 pages of Wings of Starlight.
Thanks for the company & motivation everyone. ♥️
I didn't finish it, but I did get through about 2/3 of Kerry Greenwood's final Phryne Fisher novel. It felt like a farewell.
