Comparisons Between God's Gardeners and Earthseed

I curious as to whether anyone else saw parallels between the God's Garderns religion in Margaret Atwood's MaddAddam series and Octavia Butler's Parable series religion, Earthseed. Both are born out of dystopia and have environmental elements. I'm curious as to what else people have seen in the two fictional religions.
