In the book Catalyst a realistic fiction novel by Laure Halse Anderson the main character name is Kate Malone and her hobbies is to run. The character is a good person because she gives people a second chance. For example in the text she said "so after six years of hating him, why did I start liking him? He's smart. He gets my jokes."(31) This shows that the character is a good person and gives people a second chance no matter how long she hates that person. This proves that this quote was an important moment because it shows how the character changes throughout the story and reveal her true self to the readers. This interested me because it gives me a tiny glimpse of the future and the type of action the character might choose or do. Overall, the character is a good person and that she has many unknown characteristic revealed to the reader.
In the book, Insurgent, by Veronica Roth, the protagionist, Tris regrets killing one of her good friends Will. In the book, Divergent, Will was shot by Tris because he was kind of under like a spell, something that was put in his neck that controlled them to kill divergents but Tris had to shoot him, she didn't have a choice. She was scared, to shoot him or herself getting killed. In Insurgent, she reflects on how she felt when she killed Will and how it felt when Christina broke down when she found out that her best friend Tris killed her other best friend Will and put her life before his especially since he was being controlled by Jeanine. "I see a flicker of movement in the mirror, and before I can stop myself, I stare at my reflection. This is how I looked to him, I think. This is how I looked when I shot Will. (21) This shows that all she's feeling at moment is guilt. She believes that guns don't kill people but that she kills people. Trying to convince herself that it was something that she had to do is really difficult. This shows that she regrets killing Will even though she had no choice. Therefore, Tris killed Will and wishes she can go back in time and take that back.
