I think the prettiest skz albums are ATE and 5 star (the dragon one). I can't stop looking at ATE. I will buy 5 stat when they restock

I agree that ATE was my favorite look for them. I actually recently had this convo with my friend and we both agreed. Though Oddinary, where they all have funky colored hair and metal necklaces is a close second. The teen punk in me is soooooo into that look.

I also meant the actual design of the cover of the album. I loved the mouth in grey and chains, the ATE font and the little pictures around it. Maniac era is so cool.

Though I think Bangchan looks better with either the long hair he had in Ceremony and Do it or the short he has now for the awards. Seungmin I sometimes miss the fluffy look he had in Sclass or Lalala

Def the short hair now. The messy short hair Bang Chan is my favorite version of him. Seungmin is peak at the Gayo Daejejeon performance. The outfit, the hair, the voice 🤌

Side note: you know how we were talking about the parts of Kpdh that skz inspired? I was looking for the clip of them going down the slide and couldn’t find it anywhere. Someone just posted it on Facebook. Hope this opens.

I have Karma and SKZHOP HIPTAPE. My Karma one is large and in plastic and the other one looks more like a book. I’m so new to this I don’t even know what I’m talking about.

As far as Chan looks, I do like this short messy look but I don’t like bleach blonde on any of them, Felix included. I’m fine with refined blonde but the bleach thing just doesn’t do it for me. And I hate the light eyes contacts. It just looks so fake to me and they’re beautiful naturally. OR I like crazy hair colors. I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about this because Chan is my bias wrecker. I think my favorite Chan look was the bright orange in the Thunderous mv. It’s short and messy like now but orange.

And Hyunjin’s vampire look is back and I’m here for it.

That is hilarious. I’ve seen small clips of it in the past and figured that’s where KPDH got it. I think the clips I saw focused on Hyunjin who struggles going down the slide, though this video didn’t feature that. I would love to go to one of these fan meet ups.

That sllide was so fun, i had to watch it 9 times (one for each member plus the full group) Seungmin gracefully giong down and I.N. almost crashing to the ground haha.

Will definetely rewatch the movie, i forgot about that scene

I get you. I have the plastic karma too (its the limited edition). I have Do It and its just a big book, with giant photos and a little envelope with all the extras and CD. I thought all albums were the same size so now its weird seeing everyone be their own thing

I like all their hairstyles, bleached or no. What i dont like is them being white washed with makeup. Though thats mainly an Asian beauty standard. I saw a Chan photo recently of his bleached hair and white face and he looked like a ghost.

I’ve seen a lot about the Asian white beauty standard. Everybody looks good with a little color IMO. I remember seeing a male Idol with a farmers tan not too long ago but I can’t remember which group. I remember thinking that they must, in fact, be human. Though all other evidence indicates that is not the case.

So true. They can have make up if they want but not to become ghosts. They also have a ton of filters in the photos and makeup so it's not fair to compare us lowly humans with them. And the hair! Every idol has great hair (unless they bleach them to death) but that's also thanks to stylists and taking a lot of care to it

Oh sure, if my JOB was to look good and I had an entire team and company depending on my thirst trapping everybody, I would also look amazing. But I am just a lowly payroll manager who works from home with my crazy cats. There is no money for any of it. But there seems to be money for snacks which doesn’t help.

True. And i am desperate to get a full time job. And their albums arent cheap but who said hobbies are cheap. Snacks are necessary in life, a must, can't be replaced 😂

And if any of you liked manga or anime I recommend Tamon's B side (manga and they are doing an anime adaptation right now). A fan who becomes the house keeper of her bias and how he is completely different off camara. It's so funny and captures the craziness of fandom well.

Another one is Girl crush. This one doesn't have an adaptation. I haven't read it but this one is about a girl trying to become an idol. So being a trainee and the like

I have never tried manga. My husband likes a few anime’s and he tried to get me to watch them when we were first married and they were all stupid so I haven’t gone down that road at all.

I also read a k-drama book last summer and the best part about it was the cover, otherwise it was stupid. So I’m very gun shy.

But I did just watch Bon Appetite, Your Majesty and I loved it so…

I put in a request for Tamon’s B Side at my library. We’ll see what I think.

Attack on titan and Deathnote are the easiest ones to recommend. Non anime fans usually enjoy those.

I haven't started with k dramas yet. Diana recommended me Bussines proposal so I want to start with that. Haven't heard of Bon appetite, but I'll add it to watch

Just go with the mindset that it's just fun. There are some exaggeration but I thought it was a pretty accurate expression of the kpop and fandoms

Anyways, just rocking out to Mirror by SKZ today. I’ve heard it before but it’s hitting different today.

Same happened to me yesterday with Levanter. I put a random play list of all skz songs in Spotify and Levanter snagged me. It had a English version and then I came up to the English performance of Double knot that I forgot it existed. One comment on YouTube was so funny: so this is how it feels to be Korean and listening to kpop

It’s nice they have a large body of work. I know for a fact I’ve heard everything at least once but I don’t ‘know’ everything so I get unexpected treasures from time to time. Same is true of Ateez.

I just saw that there are preorders for blackpink and bts albums. Both comebacks in March. It will either be epic or a mess of competitiveness. I am more meh on both so I will be watching how the Internet behaves

I’ve read some manga and I do like a few anime. I’m currently obsessed with kdramas. Though Bon Appetite is one of my least favorite 😅 I thought it was too much about food and the female lead annoyed me. Though I did just watch Cashero with the guy who played the king in Bon Appetite and he’s so wonderfully hotly unhinged it in. Highly recommend.

Death Note was a great one. Loved that one.

If you’re trying kdramas I HIGHLY recommend Alchemy of Souls. By far my favorite.

Okay, I’m sad cause I don’t think I’m going to be able to get SKZ tickets and they haven’t even announced tour dates. I don’t understand how K-pop works. BTS posted their tour dates and the website crashed just from people looking at the website and the tickets weren’t even on sale yet. I’m too old for this game.

I’m excited about the BTS album. I think Blackpink is overrated. The members solo stuff is bangin though.

I love the new Enhyphen. I’m hearing a lot of criticism that it sounds like SKZ and it’s true, I think. But why is that bad exactly? They’re cutie pies.

I’m currently (like literally in bed right now watching) watching “Can This Love Be Translated?” It came out today and I’ve been eagerly awaiting it so I’ve already binged through the first 3 episodes. It has my absolute favorite male actor (for kdramas) in it. I love everything he does and swoon every time I see him. Kim Seon-Ho. He’s wonderful.

Where do you guys buy your albums? I think I wanna get the Ateez one.

Target and Walmart mostly. Walmart has a larger selection.


Editing to add that I did recently find a kpop store near me so I got a LOT of albums from there when I went 2 weeks ago. I’ll def be back there again.

Yes. Just in theaters but only in a few cities. Phoenix was the closest to me.

I mean, it’s VR so the theaters have to have VR sets for everybody.

About Enhypen I didn't like Knife much but now it's stuck in my head. I also liked, maybe even more, No way back. Yeah, now that you mention Knife has more a skz vibe. I don't mind, leave groups to try new things and don't get stuck doing the same thing

No Target and Walmart here so I order my albums from a store specifically for kpop in here. I looked up some Amazon albums but the reviews were either glowing or terrifyingly bad, so I don't trust it

It’s def the longest kdrama I’ve watched by far. But def worth it.
