With the movie Hail Mary coming out, how many of you are reading the book? Do you think it's like Interstellar?

I haven’t read Project Hail Mary yet, but it’s often compared to Interstellar since both are high-stakes sci-fi stories about saving Earth. From what I’ve heard, PHM is more grounded and problem-solving with some humor, while Interstellar is more serious and emotional.

@Saengard I didn’t mind Ready Player One because I could visualize almost everything as I read it. That kind of immersion really works for me. Do you have any sci-fi like that you’d recommend?
What I am currently focused on: Ready Player Two (Ready Player One, #2) by Ernest ClineNight Market (Crossroads Chronicles, #2) by B.R. Kingsolver
The Extinction Cycle Series Box Set #1-3 by Nicholas Sansbury Smith
Mark Lawrence has just released a Venus sci-fi on Kindle, 'Queen of Venus'. It's really good https://www.amazon.com/Queen-Venus-Im...
I haven't read either and I never think Sci Fi is for me but in recent years I've reflected that some books that I've really enjoyed are actually science fiction - like Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton and 22.11.63 by Stephen King.
Resonance is like Jurassic Park with time travel. In the future they harvest prehistoric resources to bring back to the future to sustain the population. But not is all that it seems! It has been my passion project for years and I finally was able to release it!
@storhmy Ready Player One was great, especially for the nostalgia of the Gen X folks. It really stradled the line between overdone remember-bait and keeping it unique and grounded. I'm hoping the sequel is as good. I can't think of another good nostalgia focused book, but in a slightly different vein, I wrote an apocalypse/revenge sci-fi with a premise/atmosphere similar to the movie Greenland that just had a sequel. If interested, it's called The World Ender on Amazon Kindle.
@Megan, it's wild to think that we are living in a sci-fi world now. AI isn't just a story plot, it's on all our phones! Robots are coming soon, too. Crazy!
@Saengard I agree with you. Ready Player One really struck that balance between nostalgia and a grounded story. And if your book has anything close to Greenland’s atmosphere, I’m definitely interested. I was so excited when I saw it had a sequel, so that kind of premise is right up my alley.
I enjoyed Project Hail Mary. Not like Interstellar per se, but to talk about that might induce spoilers. It was the kind of story you just go with, entertaining, quick read, fun. Glad I read it
I'll read your book @N.Condor. Would you be able to read mine and leave a written review on Amazon? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0G4GFL9D3

RESONANCE by C. Seger is a pulse-pounding sci-fi thriller packed with action, intrigue, and mind-bending consequences.
