I've read all of her books but haven't really liked one for quite awhile but I keep trying!

Actually I am the same. i just noticed I have rated 3 books four stars, 3 books three stars, and 3 books 2 stars.

I keep reading them because the premises sound so good - and then being disappointed. Hoping this one will break my streak, fingers crossed!

Might start a day or two later for this one. I've got buddy reads starting this weekend and I need to read this weekend. lol

Thru Chapter 12 31% (view spoiler)[ Well, Charlie and Freya both definitely have/had a drinking problem. Between the two of them they managed to tank Charlie's career in one night. They've moved out of London into a smaller community and Charlie has opened a new restaurant. Sounds like it's not going good. I'm not sure which one was driving the car that night and hit a neighbor out walking his dog. Sounds like he's coming out of the comma and might be able to remember what happened and who hit him and let him for dead. (hide spoiler)]

Thru Chapter 25 53% (view spoiler)[ Freya's mom is sure pushing Charlie into admitting something, guessing she wants him to admit that he was driving the car. I'm still not sure he was. Charlie and Freya sure don't know how to be in a relationship. They lie to each other at every turn, even on small stuff. And Nina...still not sure what her angle is, but I feel like she is somehow related to the car accident. (hide spoiler)]

Thru Chapter 45 76% (view spoiler)[ Wow, these two are just awful together. I don't understand why they, mostly Freya, are fighting so hard to stay together. Now she's claiming to be pregnant??? I still think that he is plotting to have her killed. (hide spoiler)]

Through Ch. 25 (53%) (view spoiler)[OMG Freya and Charlie are just so rotten! To themselves, to each other, they're truly made for each other, gross. Freya assaulted Coco after seeing the photo of her dancing with Charlie in the background?? Because she has Coco's Patek watch. And Charlie probably wasn't cheating on her with Coco but he IS cheating on her with Nina. Nina seems real suspicious, like she must know about the accident, maybe she's an undercover cop, she's obviously not an alcoholic but was a plant in the AA meeting. And Freya's mom, what's going on there? Does she really know who was driving that night? They're all such a bunch of liar mcliarpants, it's infuriating, honestly. 😅 (hide spoiler)]

I finished it last night before bed. (view spoiler)[Wowza what a mess!!! Freya was a psychopath and Charlie was just a poor victim. Anita was not actually a horrible mother. I ended up enjoying it once there were actual good guys, Anita and Charlie. You gotta have someone to root for. And Charlie never cheated with Nina. Nina had her own grudge against Freya wowwww. (view spoiler)[Freya was horrendous but Charlie redeemed himself to me. He was actually the good guy, not the bad guy. Lying about who was driving, trying to keep Freya off alcohol, saving Anita. Jones set it up so we dislike both of them but they're not both bad. (hide spoiler)]
