I'm looking for a way to repair the elbow of a favorite sweatshirt. I wear it a lot because it reminds me of my dog. Long gone, my beagle Frekley.

It's only worn around the house so a perfect mend isn't required. No patch.
It's a hole over the elbow.

Please recommend a book.

This is a newer version of the Readers Digest "Complete Guide".

Good Luck!

Hi ! Thanks for responding. I was beginning to think everyone was gone since we don't have Jim to keep things going. He was so good at that.

Jaye | 203 comments I've looked at 3 books and decided I'm probably going to have to patch. I'm looking for an old t-shirt to cut up.
I know i had one in mind to go to textile recycling but where did i put it.

Foxtower | 33 comments I just updated "mybooks" and found your message!

I'm not sure about sewing patches, but I extend the life of my work pants by gluing a knee patch (cut out of a discarded pair) with the glue "E-6000".

I'm sure you'll find a solution, though I would suggest actual sweatshirt material instead of t-shirt material.

The piece i am mending IS a sweatshirt elbow. My favorite house sweatshirt-- meaning old, broken-in, only to be worn in the house.

And it has a Beagle on the front. I bought it when my Beagle was here. Frekley. A wonderful dog who walked into my workplace one day. He was older when he arrived and stayed with me 5 or 6 years.🐕

Foxtower | 33 comments Hi again!

Another option is to buy a thrift store sweatshirt and use the arms! Real sewing involved but even I can figure out how to do that...

Just checking in today to prepare for a budget discussion at the Library. The Director always likes to exaggerate prices.

The books I enjoy have seen a huge increase because of the cost of mailing old out of print paperback books. I did manage to buy a bunch in bulk at about $2.25 each (as opposed to $8 each individually these days!) , though one order was filled with stinky books from mold exposure. (now sitting in a tub with baking soda)

That's cute reminder of Freckley... I originally used my dog Roscoe for my photo here. Sadly he passed at 14.
