AMC is showing an up-dated version of "The Prisioner" with Ian McKellan (Yes, THAT Ian McKellan) as #2. They are also letting people watch all 17 of the original (BBC) episodes. It starts on Sunday Nov 15, runs from 8-10, then again on Mon (16th) 8-10 and finally on Tue (17th) 8-10. If you can't watch it on the day it airs (waves hand) then they will open up the episodes on-line the next day so that you don't have to miss them. I tried to link the web-site but my "copy" function is refusing to cooperate. Not sure if anyone here is a fan of the cult classic original, but thought that I'd mention it, just in case

I'd actually never heard of it until a few weeks ago when I saw the preview for the new one. I have it set up on my dvr. I didn't, however, know this was an updated version. I will have to look into it.
I remember watching the original with Patrick McGoohan when I was a kid. Everything British was SO hip then, sinc The Avengers was a major hit about the same time. Don't know if I'll watch it or not. The original never made sense to me!
the not making sense was part of the whole thrill of watching it. The last show of the series actually kind of tied everything up, but I won't spoil it for anyone. :o)
I've been wanting to have the entire original series--but just could NOT justify the price (130+ dollars) but I keep hoping it'll go on super low sale someday.
Anyone watching Ghost Hunters Academy? Steve and Tango have their work cut out for them. This is an interesting show, but Steve is catching the trainees in his traps already!
Linda, I watched the first episode of Ghost Hunters Academy on On Demand the other night. I will be adding it to my dvr list now since On Demand takes so long to update new epi's.
Is Ghost Hunters Academy like those other ghost hunter shows with all the really annoying people who I wouldn't believe in a million years?? Those shows piss me off because I think they make people who believe in the supernatural look like idiots.
Melodie, no. This is a team from the Ghost Hunters show, training 4 or 5 people in their ghost hunting techniques to join the team on Ghost Hunters. They use scientific equipment, and try to debunk claims if possible. They believe in what they are doing, and don't make anyone look like idots. It's the only paranormal hunting show that I trust to be true. They even have grown to have an international team show entitled Ghost Hunters International. Give them a try.
