Techno/Sci-fi thrillers combine the action of thrillers with complex technological elements.

Key characteristics of a techno-thriller:
Advanced technology
Cybersecurity
Hacking
Science-gone-wrong
Futuristic settings
Plausible Science
Ethical implications of technology
Famous techno-thriller examples:

Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson – A computer virus threatens to infect human minds.
Neuromancer by William Gibson – A washed-up computer hacker is hired for a heist against a powerful AI.
Movie: “The Matrix” – A computer hacker discovers his world is a simulated reality.

Daemon and Freedom™ by Daniel Suarez: A brilliant, fast-paced dive into decentralized AI, autonomous agents, and society-altering technology. AI & Cyber Thrillers

Rolo Sebastian | 20 comments I'm using State of Fear as a comp for my current manuscript. It is a bold narrative and is a brilliantly structured story.

That's a book that's been on my physical TBR for a while, Rolo. It''s exciting to hear it's a comp for your manuscript.
