Hi, hope its okay to self recommend - When a single teacher in New Orleans becomes entangled with a restorative, grief-haunted craftsman, she must balance loving him and protecting herself—before old habits and hidden losses undo the life they’re trying to build together.
Delaney Monroe lives a quiet life. Early mornings, dog-eared books, and the comfort of her second-grade classroom. Love, for her, has always been something she reads about, not something she risks.
Then he shows up.
Callum Reed is all intensity and ink, with a crooked smile that hides more than it reveals. He’s a devoted uncle, a gifted craftsman, and he makes it far too easy for Del to forget every rule she’s ever made.
Their chemistry is electric. What starts with a glance turns into slow touches and whispered wants, midnight kisses that taste like secrets, and heat that lingers long after he’s gone. Callum sees her in a way no one ever has. He makes her feel wanted, brave, undone.
But he’s holding back. And when the truth finally comes out, it won’t just break the rules—it’ll break her heart.
A gentle, slow-burn romance about recovery, trust, and choosing each other when life is messy. For readers who love bookshop meet-cutes, musicians, and tender second chances. Perfect for readers who love slow-burn contemporary romance, found family, and emotionally rich love stories set in New Orleans—where healing comes quietly, and love asks to be chosen.
Better than the Movies, Nothing like the movies, The Do-Over, Betting on You, and Fake Skating. THEY‘RE ALL AMAZING
If you are just entering into romance phase i would suggest author like lynn painter, ali hazelwood and emily henry.
I will always recommend the Windy City series by Liz Tomforde. It’s 5 books and books 2 and 3 are my favorites.
Monsieur Monster is a romance, but a slightly different kind. It makes it a little uncomfortable.Love, obsession, illusion, and the cost of believing the wrong version of someone.
It leaves an impression for sure
Catfish Honeytrap by Camren Walker was my favourite read from last year. A dumped 30-year-old woman gets rich wreaking revenge. There's a romantic happy end and a great twist https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
There are the popular books that touch on romance... anything by Sally Rooney. One day. Americanah. If you want something new or short... Try reading Vibrating particles (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... ) or Mr. Salary (not new though) https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
