Hi! Thanks for setting this up Kelly and Co. I really want to learn how to create challenge spreadsheets and I have one to design for my Disney challenge starting in April so will have plenty of questions. Be ready 😂
Interesting. I hate spreadsheets, but use them all the time for challenges. I don't see Danielle in this group. She is the SS gremlin, you need her for this kind of thing. She finds all the errors in mine. LOL! I can't complain. She makes them better. I went from barely using spreadsheets for several years after quitting my job to deal with my daughter's mental health issues (she is grown now) to suddenly using them again. Remembering some of those formulas is taking some time.
Thanks for creating this group Kelly - good idea! Spreadsheets in challenges has really changed everything for the better (though I sometimes have trouble the first few times around lol). Any feedback I can give I'm happy to help.
Hello! I've never run any challenges but I enjoy making spreadsheets more automatic. Some examples of things I've done for challenges in the past:We were writing out lyrics of songs from letters in our book titles and authors. I designed a cell where you could type in the title/author and it would highlight all the words that that book could be used for.
I've also took a monopoly board and put it on google doc that included icons that could be seen moving around the board based on their rolls.
I personally created a workbook where I have my tbr, one of my pages allows me to type a word and it will show me every book in my tbr that can be used to spell that word in a list.
I'm not good with coming up with the beginning of spreadsheets by myself. But I can edit them and hopefully make them more automatic. I'm also not a good designer when it comes to cosmetic looks.
That's so cool! I would love to see that monopoly board in particular! If you want to include any sheet in this forum, post it down below and I'll add it to the list.
We all have different skills. I am only a designer. I can make the very simplest of fixes but that's about it.

Hi everyone!! Thanks again for setting this up, Kelly! I also really want to learn how to make cool spreadsheets and use all the available tools. I feel like there's so much you can do and idk how to do any of it 😩 I want to learn to be able to use some for creating challenges on here, but also for organizing things in my daily life and work. I have ADHD and am in a doctoral program and there's just so many tedious tasks that I have to stay on top of and a nice, pretty SS would really help my brain lol I mean I can make basic ones now, but they're ugly and essentially just lists so it doesn't really help me or make me want to use it so it's pretty much useless lmao
I also have to track hours for my program so I desperately need a SS for that, where I have it set up to auto-calculate totals which I have no idea how to do
The time travel challenge is what really made me want to learn after seeing everything Ashley was able to do with the maps and all of that lol
I haven't heard of that challenge. Sounds fun! I use spreadsheets for a lot of things but I don't automate anything because I don't know how. This is a great place to learn stuff. Feel free to create a thread if you have a subject that isn't covered like "how to start making spreadsheets" and then ask some specifics or something. People can use this group any way they want.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...That's the link to the spreadsheets I've worked on/made.
The Book tracking sheet and all the sheets to the right of it work together to make the challenge corner sheet (which is used to find words that book titles/etc can spell out)
The trouble with spreadsheets is the more you know the more fancy you can make them - and the more time you want to spend making them fancy! lol
Kala, that's amazing! I've added it to our spreadsheet list! I'm so impressed. I want to play monopoly now! Are you going to have another game of it?
I didn't host it. A moderator in Challenge Corner did. I just converted their Image into an interactive excel sheet.Though I will admit after playing with it some today I was thinking of ways to make the play more monopoly like. Maybe I can get with a moderator in Game Night and host it.
The game night moderators actually asked some non-mod folks to host challenges. If you'd like, I can ask if they'd be interested in having you join and host that challenge. You can get someone else to help you develop it if you want.

Let me check with the original creator of the board and see if we can use what she created. If not I may need some help coming up with new ideas for spaces and chance cards.
I will let you guys know.
If all else fails you guys are also more than able to make a copy of the spreadsheet and change it to host games too
Sounds great. Let us know. I'd love to host something like that but I'd need help and more info about how it was played the first time so I could modify it if she wants us to. But I think it would be great if you moderated it.
Kala, did you hear back? If not, can you give me just tiny bit of an intro to the game so i have a place to start building it?
