ErynAmrod | 297 comments I've come across a Japanese author that's been translated into Chinese and I think Thai? and unfortunately it all looks like a bit of a mess. I don't think he's been translated into a language that uses the Roman alphabet, so I don't think there's any consistency with how to romanize his name, and as far as I can tell he has six author pages:

堂場瞬一: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
堂場 瞬一: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
Shunichi Douba: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
Shunichi Doba: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
Syun'iti Douba: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
Doba Shunichi: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

I think at the very least we need to combine all the Roman alphabet ones somehow. Since there's no official way to do it, I think we just pick one (I'd recommend Shunichi Doba as that is used on some Japanese covers, though that's decorative and may change if the book is ever translated). Then the two using Chinese characters should be merged probably (space or no space, either works) as I think the only time we have split profiles is for different writing systems.

(or if he hasn't been translated into a language with the Roman alphabet, do we remove those and merge completely into his Japanese profile?)

A lot of his books will also need to be corrected to have the correct language titles, etc.

Karin (writteninitalics) | 182 comments As the translated editions use Shunichi Doba, I've kept that in addition to 堂場 瞬一. All of his Japanese work should be shown on the latter, but let me know if I've missed any!
