Winter 2026 Anime that I am watching that are derived from Light Novels:

First up is Hell Mode from the light Novel Series Hell Mode: Volume 1 by Hamuo Mo (Illustrator), Taishi (Translator).

I really enjoyed this LN series and have read the first 6 volumes of 13. There is also a manga series.

“‘Level up even while offline’?! That’s not a game on ‘easy mode’—that’s just an AFK game!”

The online game Yamada Kenichi had been playing religiously is shutting down its servers, leaving him with a void in his heart. He looks for a new game to fill it, but everything he finds is way too easy. The kind of game he likes—the kind punishing enough to make players want to spend thousands of hours on it—just isn’t around anymore.

“What’s this? ‘You are invited to a game that will never end.’”

Kenichi stumbles upon an untitled game, one promising incomparable challenge with unprecedented potential. Without hesitation, he selects the “Hell Mode” difficulty. Lo and behold, he finds himself reincarnated in another world as a serf!

Now called Allen, he sets out to unlock the secrets of his mystery-laden Summoner class; without the convenience of walkthroughs, game guides, or online forums, he must grope his way to the top of his new world!

I get chills every time i hear the the ending theme song is "You'll Be In My Heart 〜Sobani〜" performed by Azusa Tachibana as her character Alichey.
"
Fleeting dreams, never reaching their end
I was afraid of the pain that goes on forever

In the shadow cast at the window
Memories of you blur and bleed

Bathed in moonlight
I saw you shining like a distant star

Even as the seasons change and time flows on
They remain unfaded

So that the love song echoing through eternity might reach you as well
Even knowing it will never come true, I still go on dreaming

My tears have dried, the scenery grows hazy, far beyond eternity
Even if I lose sight of your shadow, my heart alone is still
By your side

As if it were all an illusion
I hold tight to a fragile, breaking future

That warmth I can no longer touch
Sinks into a night without end

The words carved into my heart back then
Are treasures you gave me

Wrapped in the moon’s light
I saw you glitter like a pale star

If it were possible, take this hand of mine
Just one more time

So that the love song echoing through eternity might reach you as well
Even knowing it will never come true, I still go on dreaming

My tears have dried, the scenery grows hazy, far beyond eternity
Even if I lose sight of your shadow, my heart alone is still
By your side
