Jabotikaba | 709 comments Perhaps you would like Chimeras of Estmer? This book has at least two fantasy mystery storylines. In one of these, the protagonist attempts to track down his enemy, who murdered his former teacher and transformed him into a cat. As you can imagine, this is quite difficult to do while in cat form.
The second storyline follows a princess who is trying to find out who is constantly trying to kill her brother. Admittedly, this isn't as interesting as a talking cat trying to catch and punish a murderous sorcerer, but it's still not bad. The main question for me, though, was why all these endless attempts to kill the poor guy invariably failed. When the two storylines intersect, things get even better.
This book also has three romance subplots. My favorite is the one about the princess and her boyfriend.
If you're not interested in this book, you might enjoy the Thraxas series by Martin Scott. These are stories about a private detective in a fictional world where elves and orcs live alongside humans, and magic exists. Also, these books contain a great deal of humor.

Eugenia | 61 comments 'Holy Phrog' by Camren Walker is a great and clean romantic suspense about a homeless young woman who breaks into her old home and manipulates the missionaries who have moved in. Very funny and twisty https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

Elise Van Manen | 4 comments jennifer lynn barnes the natural series is pretty good! it’s as if criminal minds was teenagers. honestly liked it better than agggtm.

freida mcfadden books are always so quick and easy to read. my favourite from her is never lie! they are psychological thrillers.

another book i always recommend is silent patient. i read that in one sitting. its about a woman who shot her husband and never speaks again. no one knows why she shot him but a psychologist is obsessed with trying to understand what drove her to this action. it’s so good.

Lovely war

A good girls guide to murder

The hunger games (if already read, the ballad of sing birds and snakes and sunrise on the reaping)
