I really enjoyed the ending, and I thought that the powerful message this book ended with is super important for not discussing only police brutality but also any abuse of power. Standing up for what you know is right is incredibly beautiful and powerful. Even when things are scary and hard and horrible, standing together with our neighbors against the wrongness makes us all even stronger.

I really liked the book. I found it to be really impactful and totally relevant and I'm glad the author didn't sugar-coat anything. THUG LIFE was such a powerful philosophy on systemic injustice. Also, I loved Starr as the protagonist because I found her to be both relatable and inspiring.
snaps for that. Starr was an AMAZING protagonist, and i loved her voice and how she kept going even when everything was crashing down around her.
