We have both Chesley Sullenberger and Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger in the system. We usually go with the name on the cover, right? That's the long nickname one. I just can't bring myself to like the look of Capt. Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger. Should I suck it up and combine it under that one anyway?

We do remove all titles. I'd also remove the nickname, but copy the full title into the description field (after you've combined them.)
I found a third option of Chesley B. Sullenberger and most editions were actually under that. I combined them all under that one. Good?
Between:http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...
and
http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...
are they the same or different person?
if they are the same, which profile should we keep?
I think I have read somewhere about writing the author name with "normal" alphabet, no special characters. But I'm not sure what is the conclusion...:)
I went with the one without the accent mark -- 81 books to two, and no book covers I saw showed the accent mark in the author's name.
Thanks Rivka. Is the above case applicable for all author or we should see it as case by case basis?
(http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/... and possibly several others come to my mind)
René Goscinny most assuredly should have his accent mark. As you can see, it's on all (most?) of his book covers.
Plus, that's actually how he spells his name (check his website).
