What is a book you thought you wouldn't like but were pleasantly surprised? Why were you reserved, what made you start it, what did you end up liking about it?
For me it was Her Soul to Take by Harley Laroux. I heard about the power dynamics and that the scenes were fun, but I was afraid because of the demonology/hell. I guess I have some religious fears that I am working through! But when I tell you that book was SO FUN. I was immediately invested in every single one of the main characters. I tried reading the whole trilogy but it got boring because it tells the same story from different POV so I dnf'd those. But reading her soul to take for the first time was amazing!
