Hi Sean, I'm working with Joseph Finder (The Oligarch's Daughter, Nick Heller series) on backlist visibility. I see A Good Thriller features monthly author Q&As... would you be open to considering Finder for a future slot? I'm so glad you have added Carolyn and Pam as moderators, I know Carolyn well!! I've been a member since 2016 but haven't been as engaged as I should be.

One of my pet peeves is that you don't archive or delete old comments and reviews - some going back to 2014, so I always have to wade through a lot of reviews to get to the current page. Just mentioning that it could perhaps be cleaned up a bit??

Hi Dorie - good to see you here! Quite a lot has already been tidied up on the site and archived, but there are some longer ones that need to be cleaned up (such as Netgalley reviews). It‘s a work in progress - but always good to get feedback from members about what is clunky/ out of date and what needs a clean up.

Hi Dorie - we have a thread for Netgalley reviews. We could widen this to Netgalley and ARCs in general if that would work. (The thread is quite long so we will start a new one for 2027.)

Carolyn has revised the Share your NetGalley Reviews Here thread to include all ARCs. It can be found here. As Carolyn stated earlier, we will start a fresh thread for 2027 as this one is getting rather long.

I cross posted this issue on Contact Sean thread, so this is a repeat of an issue I am facing:

I need help sorting out an issue with suspicious users.
Please see my book reviews for Outside Eden's Gate a Shadow Falls. Starting with a user named Xetaye left 5 star review last week and contacted me via my website. They started a discussion on Goodreads... which after I answered the questions I realized all the users were new. They then demanded payment, and sent a payment link which was suspicious. (someone's personal account). This morning after I didn't pay (I had never agreed to pay anything), three - 1 star reviews appeared on my book. all say "Author is a Scammer"
I reported the individual users for harassment. I was unable to get to the old discussion to report the users in the discussion, but the link is there in the post mentioned below for admins to track them down. The timing couldn't be worse for this as I am running a 99 cent promo this week and the 1 star fake reviews need to be removed asap please.

You will see many authors are getting these, check our introduction page, a few authors believe we contacted them we did not.

They are scammers, they are trying to get money out of you.

Most authors have ignored them.

Pam or Sean, I just want to make sure I get this right. If I want to start a discussion around my book, I go to the Author Spotlight and Bio section. Then I start a new topic, and the title needs to be '(Q&A)'. Then, in the body of the topic, there should be a brief introduction and the question I want to pose to readers for discussion. Hopefully, people will then discover the discussion thread and contribute. I want to make sure I have this process right before I mess up. Thanks, Lee

Lee, That is right. In the Author Spotlight and Bio section start a new topic with your Name and the book title followed by (Q&A). You can pose any questions in your topic and members can ask you questions. Additionally, if you are interested in your thriller being a BOTM, let us know there and we'll work to get you scheduled.

Pam, I would like to be a BOTM. Especially in 2026, which is the America 250 birthday celebration. My book is about Benjamin Franklin coming back to the 21st Century to save the world from energy monopolies that threaten a new, free energy source. Ben is the perfect person to join this fight, and my book brings his science, wisdom, and wit to readers. I write about how Ben views this new 'Republic' he helped create in 1776.

I tried to look for instructions on applying for BOTM. If there is a post you can give me a link to, that would be great, and I will follow the process.

Adam, I've flagged the one star reviewers with Goodreads asking for them to be removed, but I can't guarantee what they'll do.

I am curious if there is a willing audience here for a book I wrote, had proofread, and edited. It has not yet earned final professional editing.
It is upmarket fiction, for the better reader, but accessible.
It has a curious narrator. It’s not quite literary and not quite mystery, but it trusts the reader, it twists, and its psychological. It is not thriller, but it is an experience.

If that sounds like it fits here, only available in pdf format, curious about feedback and open to Q&A - please tell me my next steps to post it.

Hello. I received an unsolicited email claiming to be from Sean Peters and the A Good Thriller community, inviting my book, Undaunted: Leadership Amid Growth and Adversity, for a “special spotlight feature.” The sender address was seanpetersauthor@gmail.com and the subject line was “Question for Ed from the A Good Thriller community.”

I saw your group’s notice that moderators do not contact people by email, so I have not replied or clicked anything. I am reporting this in case it is part of the impersonation campaign. I can provide the full email and headers privately if helpful. Thank you.

Ed, That is a scam. Moderators won't contact you via email. You can report it to your internet service provider, block the email address from which it was sent, etc. As you said, don't reply to it or click anything in the email.

There is nothing we can do to stop it. They set up fake gmail accounts and sometimes use the name of a moderator on Goodreads.

Just wanted to provide an update for my December BOTM schedule.

I’m fairly new to the book promotional space but I’m really happy for you and the team letting me have my book for December.

I would like to run a $2.99 promo starting mid November for Kindle, and I have my paperback version set to the minimum already. I don’t have this book enrolled in KDP select to do a free promo as o have it available on other platforms.

But I’d enjoy doing a Q&A or if there’s anything else you can think that I can add value to the group I’d be more than happy to do.

Lauren, I’m sorry you want to leave the group. Do let us know if there is a specific reason, especially if there is something we can fix or change to make it work better for members.

If you go to the top of the main page, under the banner you’ll see a link to “Edit membership” where you can choose to leave the group.
