Ann | 345 comments I completely forgot until another group I'm in was posting on this movie, but Bledel has a small role in this film. I adore this movie anyway, but seeing Rory is simply another reason to watch;>

The film is a modern day take on Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" but it's set in India and done in a semi-Bollywood style. Loads of fun, and immensely entertaining (IMO ;->)

The film is directed by Gurinder Chadha who also did "Bend It Like Beckham" (another personal fav.)

Here's the link to the IMDB site:

I've seen this one. It's a little weird seeing Indian-style dancing & singing in English, but fun. And it was a nice surprise to see 'Rory' as Darcy's sister!

AngieA Allen (angelwings55) I really liked this film and the treatment of Austin. I added it to my P&P takeoff collection.

Sea Urchin Its a good movie!

message 7: by Brooke (new)

Brooke (brandell) I love it too! Lately I've been addicted to the Bollywood scene. It's perfect because it's Jane Austen love triangles with colorful song and dance numbers. Double win.

Ann | 345 comments My parents and I were just talking about this yesterday and how great that Bollywood dance number is!

Kristel | 165 comments I just loved this movie, it kind of reminded my of Bend it like Beckham too. It was a good re-imaging of the Jane Austen classic and I loved Bledels small part in it. She had/has that innocent look suited for the Georgie Darcy character.

Kayla | 130 comments I've never even heard of this movie! It sounds really good. I'm going to have to try and find it.

message 11: by Anna (new)

Anna (lilfox) | 199 comments It's great and it's not completely Bollywood.

message 12: by Angie (new)

Angie | 2 comments I loved it too. And it's such a "Rory" move for Bledel to take a role in a Jane Austen adaptation.

Lucie | 20 comments I'm not a big fan of this movie, but Alexis was so sweet there! And I also really enjoyed the song/scene "No Life Without Wife". So funny! :D
