Aelisha likes to believe that she's better than everyone else. She's a spoiled brat, and hates when someone is better at something than she is. She wears a lot of expensive clothing, simple jewelry, and makeup. Aelisha never leaves her home without makeup. She's used to being popular, and has always had a boyfriend since she was 13. None of her relationships ever lasted longer than 2 months. But her younger sister dared her to go at least 6 months without a boyfriend, and Aelisha, never the one to back down from a challenge, accepted. She regrets accepting, but that doesn't mean she can't flirt.

Aelisha never talks to anyone below her rank. She hardly even glances at dukes, duchesses, and nobility. But she treats the peasants and subjects like dirt. She laughs at them, bullies them, and gets them into trouble. Aelisha never feels sorry for peasants, and never feels remorse for her actions. She is a cold and pitiless person. No matter what happens to a person, or what their problem is, she won't feel sorry for them. In Aelisha's opinion, she has enough problems of her own and too little time to worry about other people.

Aelisha's parents, Spring Rayn and Christian Clelia, met while judging a fashion show, one similar to Project Runway. Spring was a model (and still is), who was very interested in fashion. She was extremely famous, along with her 3 younger sisters. Christian was a clothes designer, who secretly wanted a family of his own. Spring asked Christian out after the show, and they got married after 7 months of dating. About a year later, they had Aelisha. Spring continued with her modeling, and Christian continued to design clothing.

Aelisha lived in a huge mansion, getting whatever she wanted whenever she wanted. She always had a nanny, but they always managed to accidentally offend her and get fired. When Aelisha was 3, her younger sister Mackenzie was born. Aelisha was disgusted by the way baby Mackenzie was getting so much attention. Aelisha was used to being the cute, beloved one. And now Mackenzie was stealing the spotlight. Aelisha and Mackenzie never got along growing up. Aelisha never payed attention to her stupid little sister, who seemed more interested in writing poetry than flirting or partying. It was 5 years before Spring and Christian had their 3rd child, Jaysonn. Aelisha hated him the moment she laid eyes on him. Even Mackenzie, who got along with almost everybody, could hardly stand the brat. Jaysonn turned out to be a huge pest, constantly annoying people in whatever way he possibly could. He'd play pranks, steal things, break the neighbor's windows. He got into a lot of fights with other kids, too.

Before being sent to Oakrose, Aelisha attended a different prestigious school. She'd started going there when she was 10, and wound up learning there until her parents decided that Oakrose was better. Aelisha was pressured by her parents to be good at everything. Modeling, acting, being beautiful, good grades. Her old school,
Eleanor Lellis's School for the Precocious, was one of the hardest schools in the country to get into. There were many classes, all advanced and difficult. Aelisha hardly had any time to party, or go shopping, or flirt, so naturally she hated the school. She constantly complained to her parents about it, pointing out every single fault. Even the petty faults. Spring and Christian finally got sick of hearing her complaints and started searching for another school to send her to. They found Oakrose Institute for Gifted Youth, and decided that she would be happier there.

She has been at the school for six years now, and knows that everything isn't as it seems. She knows that she won't ever see her normal family again, and she is trapped here on this island for life. Rose's father and mother founded this school sixty years ago, and when they died, she was very eager to take over. They died right when she graduated, and some suspect of her killing them to take over the school. She soon put the ranking system into effect and destroyed all methods of transportation off of the remote island. Everyone was stuck and scared.

With the ranking system now a large part of society, many struggled to climb up while Rose's favorites became higher ranked instantly. The island was in distress, but soon became happier and "normal". The new students' family seemed to slowly disappear and they were soon forgotten from regular society. The whole school was a very mysterious thing, but Rose liked it and was still very power hungry. To this day, she rules, and everything isn't as it seems.

Ramona is feisty and defensive. She is sick of being bullied for being a peasant. She's been at Oakrose since she was 12, and has never left the school. She blames everyone but the peasants for the disappearance of her family. Ramona tends to get into fights a lot, and is very rude. She used to be a subject, but got denoted to peasant for ripping one of the queen's outfits. She isn't shy at all, in fact she's a very angry person. Ramona never feels sorry for anybody, because she thinks that they don't deserve her pity. She doesn't have many friends, but Ramona doesn't mind that. In her mind, it's every person for themselves.

Ramona was once just a kid who loved spending time with her friends. She lived with her sister and parents in a house in a small town, where Ramona was perfectly content to lead a normal, life that was a little bit like the movie Groundhog's Day. Except for the fact that she could age. When Ramona was 11, she and her sister, Swan, started getting really good grades. Their parents were so proud of them, and had them sent to Oakrose Institute. Ramona and Swan were made subjects, and were happy.

After that, Ramona and Swan started hearing less and less from their parents. Less calls, less texts, less e-mails. Swan thought it was nothing, but Ramona was suspicious. They had promised to keep in touch. Ramona had been to a boarding school once before, and they'd called every day. She started to suspect that Oakrose was some sort of problem. Their parents had said they would let Ramona and Swan take a break from Oakrose for a while and let them come home for a few weeks, not knowing that their daughters couldn't actually leave. But they never told Ramona and Swan why they weren't taking a break, just moved on as if that didn't matter. Ramona started to go crazy with worry, skipping her classes, snapping at classmates. Swan thought she was acting insane, that their parents were fine. But not long after Ramona and Swan's 13th birthday, their father died, drowning in the neighbor's pool, and their mother suddenly disappeared. Ramona freaked out, ripping up books in the library, making messes in the hallways, writing threatening messages on the walls of dorms, and tearing the one of the queen's outfits. Swan simply hid in her dorm and cried for a few hours while Ramona did all this, and got denoted to peasant. Swan stayed a subject, and Ramona has been angry and slightly crazy ever since.

Chelsie is friendly to most and caring, but Chip she's a whole different story. Chip is considered crazy and loves to cause trouble. Chelsie always tries to keep Chip on the DL, but Chip won't have it she desires the thirst for fun and entertainment even if it hurts others. She can be calm and collected at times and is only nice to those who she can call a friend. She has a razor sharp tongue and is a smart-mouth. Chelsie is nice and sweet and doesn't like talking about Chip. Both Chip and Chelsie love to dance and sing which is how they got into Oakrose. Chelsie loves to read and is quiet most of the time. Chip knows there is somethin fishy about Oakrose, but Chelsie doesn't listen, but Chip has a plan in store to find out the truth behind Oakrose.

Chelsie's father, Porter Carson, was a rich and famous business owner and playboy bachelor millionaire. He met a young up and coming actress named Camora Robertson. After her birth the two got married and after 2 years of living with Chelsie and Chip they sent her to live with her grandmother. Chip caused trouble in her grandmother's neighborhood every night and got arrested a couple of times. Even though she got in so much trouble, Chelsie was still a star on the dance team and became lead singer in the chorus. When she turned 12 her grandmother was fed up with her and sent her back to her parents. Her father and mother were divorced, but still kept in touch with each other. Her mother rejected her and Chelsie was forced to stay with her father. Her father kept her in after school activities to keep her occupied and she improved her dancing and soon got into singing solo at the school talent shows. Her mother saw her regularly and soon came up with a plan. They both sent her to Oakrose and called her everyday. When she turned 15 her father told her that her mother had been murdered by a wild gun shot during a shoot-out between police and bank robbers. Her father stopped contacting her and she soon found out it was because he was in a coma after a bar fight. During the night time, Chip started to search for the mysterious death of her mother and the injury of her father. She had to find out the truth and still continues the search.

She barely ever gets angry but when she does she is the biggest drama queen. History: On the 7th of September Queen Marie and King Auguste gave birth to a little princess they named Victoire( Victoria). Victoria was born as the princess of France and grew up in Versailles. Her mother and father were very busy as the King and Queen of France so they hired her 21 year old aunt Duchess Helen to be Victorias governess and teacher. Helen was extremely strict and tought Victoria only the best. Only the slightest mistake and she would beat and whip Victoria which made Victoria miserable. Her parents adored Helen and her strict ways and soon became just as strict. They started beating and whipping poor Victoria as well. Everyone respected her as princess but no one actually loved her the way she wished they would. Soon anough Victoria fell into depression. The beatings got worst and she was whipped basically every few hours. To cheer herself up she started sneaking out of the Palace to go to parties. One day Helen caught her and chained Victoria to one of the prison cells in the dungeon for a whole week. She had a horrible childhood and would love to get away from it.

Cadence is a girl whose morals and pride are centered around hard work and determination. She is very logical and prides herself on being such in all areas of her life. Cadence's childhood was one filled to the brim with heartbreak and melancholy. Her mother died at age 2 of a drug overdose , leaving her dad - who was living with her rich uncle at the time, trying to make it with his band where he was guitarist. He taught her piano at age 4, the instrument her mum played when she was alive. It was a humble upbringing. Her uncle payed for everything growing up, including her schooling (which is why she doesn't work). Her dad however broke her heart with his band getting rejected and him not taking care of himself trying to get himself in the door. She's been caring for him emotional for years and still is now. She misses the presence of a mother more and more as she's gotten older.
