Anuj wanted to know if any one has read any book along the theme of military scifi that they would recommend
thanks people

Keith Fitzgerald Heinlein's "Starship Troopers"

Nuno "Forever War" is also a good title in the same theme .

Trike Of the three biggies (and these are the Top Three in this category), I rank them like this:

Forever War
Starship Troopers
Armor

I would definitely recommend Old Man's War by John Scalzi Old Man's War by John Scalzi. It has 3 sequels, all of them excellent.

Ben Diaz Try "All You Need is Kill".

Feliks Definitely a vote for 'Armor'. If its the same book I'm thinking of, it starts out 60 m.p.h. and keeps it up til you're halfway through.

Other titles which have a faint mix of military/sf:
'The Micronauts'
'Fantastic Voyage'
'Cyborg'
'The Adolescence of P-1'
'Dunn's Conundrum'

Heinlein, I'm not always thrilled by; he is too 'coy' and 'artful' much of the time.

Feliks one more: 'Invader' by Albert Hill

Chris Wow, quite the consensus!
Forever War, Starship Troopers and Armor are some of my favorites; very re-readable!

(a side note, the movie Starship Troopers, while fun to watch, had very little to do with the book!)

Karen Cool W.Micheal Gear has several millitary/sifi

Kevin Roberts Old man's war
Ghost Brigade

Victor Solís Another action-oriented military SF book, the first of a trilogy, is War Dogs by Greg Bear. He captures the camaraderie and intensity of the group of Skyrines (spaceborne Marines) dispatched to Mars to fight an alien enemy. The narrator is a Master Sergeant so through his point of view, you're thrust into the skirmishes.

The emotional weight is not as heavy as that in Armor, although the Skyrines' foe, the antagonists, or ants, are just as implacable as the enemy in Armor.
