2026 Reading Challenge discussion

DAISY DESTINY
Duration: April 1 – April 30, 2026

This April, we are letting the flowers decide our fate! Instead of stressing over your TBR, you are going to play a game of effeuiller la marguerite—the classic "He loves me, he loves me not" petal-plucking game. The goal is to stop overthinking and let chance lead you to your next favorite book. To participate in To participate in The Challenge, make a list of books that is double the amount of books you plan to read this month. For example, if you plan to read 5 books for this challenge, make a list of 10 or more books. Next, Pluck the Petal by using a game of chance to narrow your list down to the books you’ll actually read this month. The Goal is to read at least your target number of books from your "plucked" selections.

There are plenty of ways to let the daisy decide how to "pluck" your books. You can go the classic way by writing your titles on slips of paper and drawing them out of a hat, or the schoolyard way by using "Eenie Meenie Miney Mo" to tap through your stack until you have your winners. If you prefer a Digital Daisy, you can use these tools to randomize your list:
