Yay, I found us!! I kinda like Read Between the Baselines more than The Story Sluggers, but I'm fine with either. 😍

Are we doing preseason tasks starting today? I know I saw something somewhere but can't recall what and when... 😳

Ooh, okay, I'm reading Remarkably Bright Creatures rn, so that works for R, S, or V. :) Probably do V or R since those seem harder than S, but whatever we have.

I freaking love that book. I've been obsessed with Octopus since I read it. I even have a blanket. There are no V's suprisingly-I'm Reading Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil, so I checked. There is a Z on there though if anyone has something that might work for that. Honestly, I think there are enough letters that we aren't going to get to all of them so there's probably some flexibility.

I was kind of annoyed at all the characters but now I'm kinda seeing it come together. Octopi still freak me out, but I wanted to cry like immediately when the octopus was like, yep, I've got 100-some days left to live. Like, how do we start with that??? Building a whole plot around grief!! 😭😭😭😭😭 Also, they're so big, how do octopi live such short lives?? I mean, living in the wild, fighting over food or with predators, I can see, but in captivity?? Y'all, I just can't...

I legit wanted to do a #SaveMarcellus or #FreeMarcellus so that he could enjoy the ocean for the brief time he has left. 😭😭😭😭😭 Although I'm not sure how he's never thought to escape the aquarium entirely, since he has 18 minutes and the ocean is kinda right there. You'd think it would be possible but idk.

BTW. I loved this book. I listened to the audio and it was great. I loved how it all came together.

Thanks Lisa, I'd forgotten that it's any starting letter in title/author/series. Although the only Z word I can ever think of is Zoo. Maybe Zither? I might drop dead if there's a book with Zither though lol; what a random word! 😂

I do have an author name this month that has a Z in it! Also, I fully believe that Marcellus would be totally bored in the ocean. Whose drama would he insert himself into?

That's true, Sarah... But I think he does miss it, but it could be a "grass is greener approach". After all, if he does escape to the ocean or get released, he couldn't get back to his tank...

Just read and add out books. Spring Training is just warm up, since no points, just read and add.

Yes, only Spring Training tab. So, when adding books pick the code from that tab. The competitive game starts March 25th.

Same! Work has been nuts so I basically just read and don't speak after I get off. Today was one of those days where you try to do one thing and everything turns into six smaller things you have to do. 😂

We are doing pretty darn well.
1st word almost done. I just have to finish my book.

Great going team! I feel we will knock it out of the park when the actual challenge starts come March 25th.

Hopefully we do well. I'm still trying to get my reading speed back. I've gotten some of it, but it's still not awesome.

I've worked too many hours this past week and going through these audiobooks. Then I hide in my car during my kids' practice to listen to more books.

Okay, tasks are up. Do we have a game plan? Assign tasks for each of us? Honestly I just say we read and add wherever things end up. Especially once the spellout is opened, there's definitely plenty of tasks.

Yeah, I'm definitely the mood reader lol. I'll try to fit in tasks, especially if a near future book works for a task. 🤪

Does anyone really really love sports romance that would want to hunt for a baseball series? It's not my normal genre, but I can find some if needed-if no one else enjoys that genre.

I don't have anything. I was honestly thinking I'd need to read nonfiction for baseball genre.

Audiobooks are life savers. I listen while I'm at work. I speed up the listening so an 8 hour book can be one in like 4 hrs.

I don't. I don't really like romance on it own. It's got to be Paranormal, historical, suspense or some other sub-genre.

Contemporary romance is boring to me.

Me and Ivelisse love a good romance. We can probably fill those tasks in with our reads.

I found a few baseball bios that sound good, but you all can own that section.😁
