NYRB Classics discussion

Some active members suggested we read the runner-up in our last poll, Memoirs from Beyond the Grave: 1768-1800 by François-René de Chateaubriand next and I agreed. Part of the reason I have tried to continue with the group reading these classics is that NYRB offers so much more in literature than just standard fiction. Chateaubriand's life parallels Napoleon's and I find a personal memoir stemming from the period of the French Revolution through Napoleon's career to be quite enticing. Our read of the first volume will run through April and May with a schedule for reading and discussion. We will be back to nominations for June and I will post a topic for those nominations in late April so voting can begin in early May.
