I always have a few books I can't wait to read. I just picked up a copy of this book, and am looking forward to a cup of tea and a good time to sit down and settle in to what I feel might be a good yarn.

I love the books!!!!!!! and love the show!!!!! can't stand to be with out a nikki heat book always count down to the show and new books
I like the show, but the books are "meh" to me. In short, they could not be written by the Castle we know in the show. In the show, they make him seem as a talented writer, but would a talented writer need to practically copy the people he knows onto the pages of his books, with only names changed? It only makes him seem like a talentless hack.

I read purely for entertainment; I don't usually think too deeply about what I read. I find it interesting the number of comments about how the Richard Castle from the show wouldn't/couldn't have written at this (low) level, which did get me pondering about it. He does come across as too educated to write such drivel but they say he is popular, so what makes someone popular? An easy read is one of the things.... Since the fan in the book came forward for a boob signing, I think it all fits-the right level of writing for his target audience. That's my 4-cents worth. I enjoyed the book and enjoy the TV show, but could easily take them or leave them.
I just read the first book after having watched the show for years. I was pleasantly surprised. I really liked it. Yes, it's light reading, but what's wrong with that?

Castle would write something much better.
Love the TV show have been a Fillion fanboy since...oh god Two guys a girl and a pizza place...then firefly made it insane...but anyway im not a fan of the books the Nikki heat or even the Derrick storm novella trilogy and graphic novels. If Richard Castle had been this ...blah...a writer he would never be "Richard Castle". The books are a real disappointment compared to the fantastic show
couldn't agree with you more Paul. the books are nothing in comparison to the show, what does it for me are the poker games he sometimes has with James Patterson and Michael Connelly, fabulous. don't know if you're in the uk but castle series 5 starts on alibi on Wednesday 29th march.
