Goodreads Librarians Group discussion

I'm a new Librarian here, so I just want to make sure I don’t make a mess and that I’m doing things correctly.

This book is currently combined as an edition of Sinner, but it is actually a different work — Gloria (#2.5). In English it exists as a novella without an ISBN, but in Ukrainian it was published as a separate book with its own ISBN and a hardcover edition.

As far as I understand, editions should only be combined if they are the same work. I can add proof links from the publisher’s website confirming that the Ukrainian edition was published as a separate book.

1) First, I flagged the combine action (done).

2) After that, can I separate them and provide proof links explaining why I did it?

Is that correct, or am I misunderstanding the process?

It’s my first day as a Librarian, so I just want to make sure I’m doing everything properly.

Yes, go ahead with your planned Step 2. Putting the information in the log will let others know why you took the action you did. Those log notes help so much when a question arises.
