Just this week I started Polish SFF magazine, Nowa Fantastyka 517 and one of non-fic articles (they are about 25-30% of each issue) discusses weird choices for some Polish titles of Wastern movies, SFF and others. Say, Terminator was (to translate back) 'An electric murderer'
Podkayne of Mars by Robert A. HeinleinShe was a very passive character. Her younger brother was the most active character in the book.
The Jargoon Pard by Andre Norton. Ridiculous title. I have no idea what it means. It’s the next volume I haven’t read in the author’s “Witch World” series. I’m not a huge fan of Norton but I may try it some time, in spite of the title.
