i like them both but i think harry potter is better

Okay, so I sit down and look at this topic, right?

Then I wonder: which is better?

Then I think: HP, duh!

Then I think: but I did like Twilight...

so now I'm in the middle!!

i like harry potter because, dont judge me, its just better written. stephanie myer is a good author but the kind of author that holds certain ppls attention. i liked twilight but i wasnt madly in love with it. jk rowlings on the other hand leaves you on your seat from page 1. she has that gift. she keeps the reader reading until the last page. i was always so mad when i finished her book because i usually didnt have the next one. between hp and twilight, im always going for harry potter.

who agrees and who disagrees. tell me why and ill put up my best argument(s)

i am a ahrry potter fan and nobody can change that. twilight was poorly written i think but its my opinion

I have read all of the Harry Potter books and all of the Twilight books. I enjoyed all of every book, to different degrees. That being said, I believe that overall, the Harry Potter series is better than the Twilight series, although, there are four twilight books and seven Harry Potter books, so it gives you longer to get to know the Harry Potter characters, longer to get attached to them.
The reason that I like Harry Potter better than Twilight is because I believe that the secondary characters and plot lines are better developed in Harry Potter than Twilight. They both have excellent Primary characters and plotlines, but it is the secondary stuff that really helps decide which is a better book.

I agree with Jeremy, that was a very good analysis.

I just flat out love Harry Potter. And there isn't all of this gushy romance.

I do agree that JKR handles the romance in her books very well, she puts the relationships in there without it having to be the main plot in the book.

While i have read all of both of the series, Harry Potter is definitly the best of the two. It is not only better written, but the main character is not a whiny teenage girl madly in love with the guy who hurt her.

I have read the Harry Potter books long before the Twilight ones. I reread the Harry Potter ones after the Twilight. Harry Potter, in my opinion, is better. Rowling put the plot together nicely and every chapter and book you find something out that was a mystery before! Though it is not romance, it is a great action, adventure, and supernatural book. It does have Werewolves, which I think Rowling's impression of a werewolf ties in nicely with her book topic and plot. Myer's impression of a vampire is nothing like the first vampire by Stoker. (Dracula). I think that will always be the only true vampire. Werewolves and Myer's? Well she didn't really get to go into detail about those because the pack was Spirit changers and not actual children of the moon. Rowling did write much better than Myer's, but you can't really compare much between the two when one was third person while another was first.

I don't like Twilight at all to be honest. If vampires were actually real, they are the walking dead. They live for blood. It doesn't matter how pretty she was, she's a walking blood bank that you can't resist. A vampire isn't going to fall in love with you, they are going to eat you.

What do you guys say is better HP or Twilight becauuse i want to read the books but i dont know what to reads 1st.

i am too, but when you think about the plot as a whole compared to other books,harry potter wins hands down

I suggest reading maybe Twilight first, because it's shorter, then Harry Potter. But then again maybe HP first because Twilight might not be in with no much people reading it now a days.

There are definetly people out there somewhere that believe Twilight is better than Harry Potter, it just doesn't seem like they are in this group. Honestly, I think that people actually are taking the time to think about it and make an actual debate out of it and that's why Harry Potter is winning. Also, there are Twilight fans out there that haven't read Harry Potter or the other way around. Both book series have blind followers who won't even consider the idea that there are other books out there that could be better than their book, and it speaks highly of our group that none of us have fallen into that mindset here.
