Goodreads Librarians Group discussion

Is there a reason why profiles for both Unknown and Unknown . exist in the database? I usually chalk duplicate profiles up to bots being bots, but the space + period suggests the later may have been created by a librarian.

Oddly, even though I only learned about this today, the profile with the period has more books than the regular one

I haven't logged in for a few days (RIP my laptop), so maybe I missed a policy update?

I wouldn't merge these profiles, since these books usually have an actual author.

There's one that's even worse which is Unknown Author that according to the disambiguate page has 11 million books on it.
