The new season has started. I am enjoying several that have light novel roots. First up is "Observation Records of My Fiancée - The Misadventures of a Self-Proclaimed Villainess"
Goodreads doesn't seem to have a entry for the first arc of the ln series by Shiki. Here is the Wikipedia Entry:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/An_Obse...

The basic plot is that Cecil, crown prince, who is numb to emotions, becomes interested in his fiancée, Tia, whom claims to be a reincarnator who was reborn as the villainess of an otome game. Thinking she is simply crazy at first, Cecil plays along; until events that Tia foretold begin happening as she said. Because of what appears to be psychic power, Cecil decides to take more interest in her and listen to Tia's ramblings.

It is a fun animated series and and fun LN. I am glad it has been picked up for English translation.

another is Haibara’s Teenage New Game+, Vol. 1 (Japanese: 灰原くんの強くて青春ニューゲーム, Hepburn: Haibara-kun no Tsuyokute Seishun Nyū Gēmu). This looks like an adorable "time travel back to high school" series.

9 volumes of the Light novel have been translated so there is plenty to read if you like the anime series.

Basic story is that Natsuki Haibara, a fourth-year university student, was planning for his life after graduation when he is suddenly transported back in time. He finds himself seven years in the past to when he was a first-year high school student. As he has retained memories and skills from his university life, he aims to relive his high school days and deal with his past regrets, including becoming friends with his former crush Hikari Hoshimiya.

Are you watching? Well sometimes a great, funny show, does not have translated light novels that it was created from.

One super funny romance is "Always a Catch!" or Nigetsuri.
The series is likely on Crunchyroll with English subtitles.
There is a manga series from the LNs which is translated into English.

I hope the series gets enough interest that it is translated into English.

A manga adaptation illustrated by Kaki Nagato began serialization on Square Enix's Manga Up! manga service in April 2022. An anime television series adaptation produced by TMS Entertainment and animated by Troyca premiered in April 2026. (credit Wikipedia)

Just started "I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class" (Japanese: クラスで2番目に可愛い女の子と友だちになった, Hepburn: Kurasu de Ni-ban Me ni Kawaii Onna no Ko to Tomodachi ni Natta)

summary: Maki Maehara, a shy, lonely, high school student, unexpectedly becomes friends with Umi Asanagi after Umi learns about Maki's interests in scary movies. Umi, a popular student, is considered the second prettiest girl in their class behind Yuu Amami, who is Umi's best friend. Despite having seemingly different backgrounds, Maki and Umi share many of the same interests, which strengthens their bond together and leads to them hanging out after school often at Maki's house. As Maki and Umi become closer, Umi's best friend, Yuu, learns about their bond and joins Umi in befriending and hanging out with Maki. However, due to Umi having previously been abandoned by her two old friends in middle school for Yuu, Umi fears that Maki will also abandon her as Yuu begins to hang out with them more often. This ultimately leads to a confrontation between Umi, Yuu, and her two old friends, as Umi expresses how she feels inferior to Yuu. This causes Maki to advise Umi to temporarily stop hanging out with him in order to fix the relationship between her and Yuu, but Yuu refuses to allow this to happen, instead encouraging Maki and Umi to hang out together. This leads to Umi confessing that she has fallen head over heels in love with Maki after staying over at his house late one night, but Maki hesitates to accept as he worries about not being fit for Umi as a shy outcast in his class. Thus, he temporarily rejects her, but decides to stay friends with her for the time being.

The 10 volumes in Japanese are not officially translated yet. There is, however, 3 volumes of the manga translated and it seems that is an active series.
