I picked up a copy from the library and I only realized I had read this a few years ago when I read the book blurb! It is an excellent novel.

Im looking forward to it.

I feel that this novel can be very, very interesting. It comes to me at an ideal moment in which I have decided to read more African literature or that takes place in Africa.

I'm excited for it. Waiting my turn through Libby.

Ive begun a new system where i make little notes for each chapter of descriptions or importance so if i put the book down too long i can quickly catch up on where i left off to jog some memory but also to help create better reviews after. Thinking itll really help for this read. Starting today 🙌🏻

The fact that members can join months later is one of the strengths of an ongoing book-club thread. Violaine gets to arrive when the book fits her schedule, while the earlier discussion remains available as a map rather than a deadline. That seems especially appropriate for a novel built across generations.
