How is Homegoing unfolding for you so far?

Which threads of the story are standing out most—the shifting generations, the historical moments, or the way each chapter builds on what came before? What emotions or questions are starting to emerge as you read?

Share your reflections, favorite passages, or reactions as you go, and please tag spoilers when needed.

Julie Grindal (julesgrin) | 266 comments I like the story and wish I knew my own lineage like this story. However, there are so many characters. I believe it is harder to keep track because I am on audiobook and not reading and seeing the spelling of the names that are unusual to me.

Devon (dgivi13) | 282 comments I have both the audio and libby kindle version. The first page of the book was a chart of the family tree of who was who in which family. Which told me there were going to be many characters to unpack here. I had referred to it a few times in the beginning to get people straight.

Devon (dgivi13) | 282 comments Interesting thought that siblings/sisters are more important because they’re blood relation vs their own kids because their spouse isn’t technically of blood relation and not as “powerful”

Tiffany (herbtiff) | 264 comments No, I have been having a hard time following it all.
