What are some of your books on your summer TBR?

I haven't planned that far ahead, but would love to see what others are going to read. How about you?

Love & Gelato and TSITP!

I've read the first two Love & Gelato books. is TSITP The Summer I Turned Pretty plus its sequels?

I saw your post in a book you're reading--where will you be going to in Alaska? When I was 14 I spent six weeks there staying with my aunt, late ex-uncle and cousins. It was going to be shorter but kept getting extended. It's beautiful!

Wow 6 weeks is a long time! I have been to Alaska before for a week and I agree. It is beautiful

I’m reading Jane eyre by my window while it is raining under a blanket with a candle going. The mood is immaculate! I’m in my happy place.

How's everyone doing? Has anyone else been affected by the wildfire smoke? Even though we live far away, we had some day with poor air quality, and some with warnings for the elderly, babies and those with lung problems to avoid going outside. It's significantly better here now.

Have you tried temp agencies? I mentioned this to the parent of a college student. It's how two of mine managed to get summer work, usually 40 hours per week for the weeks they worked--they usually worked most or all of the summer, but less in 2020. My son ended up getting hired directly as a summer employee at one place after the first year (they told him to apply directly the next year) so he was paid better.

My kids both opted for light industrial, but there are also office temp agencies, of course.

I hope it works out for you :) I'm always happy to dole out advice after having kids, but try not to overdo it!

It was a load off my back once I was totally finished school, and also for my kids :)

I'm glad you like it! One of my nephews worked as a barista for a number of years in school and after, before switching to washing high rise windows (better pay.) He's now finally in medical school in Australia (couldn't get into the one in Vancouver even though he did extremely well on the MCAT and had top marks--in Canada they look at that last.) He's 29 and had to take the MCAT a second time because his had expired, and finally applied overseas.

Wow. That’s awesome he did so well. Those are very hard, I know
