Philip Fracassi is an author who is absolutely killing over the last 5-7 years and really needs to be on everyone’s radar. Just when I think he can’t get any better, his next release comes out and proves me wrong. I just finished Sarafina and I can’t stop thinking about it. Add his Boys in the Valley and The Autumn Springs Retirement Home Massacre to the mix and you’ve got an unholy trifecta I’d put up with any other writer out there.

I discovered him with Gothic and felt it was like an old school 70s horror novel, a bit on the pulpy side, but enjoyable. Then I met him at AuthorCon and got Behold the Void which is some of his early short fiction, and after reading it thought, man, this guy can write. So I bought The Autumn Springs Retirement Home Massacre and was just blown away at what a fantastic piece of fiction it was. I also enjoyed D7. Looking forward to reading more, and debating on buying Sarafina now or wait til it's out in paperback cause I just don't have the space for more hardcover books.

My first Fracassi read was Altar about 10 years ago and I have been following him and reading everything he puts out ever since. Dude has some serious skills. One of the best in the business and a must read author for sure. A24 is releasing the Altar movie hopefully this year.

I loved The Autumn Sprints Retirement Home Massacre so much, my favorite read of the year so far I think for horror/thriller. Gives me the fuzzies anytime I think about it, def need to read more of him, so I'm happy he's getting love on here.

I, too, discovered the author with Gothic. I loved the creepy feel to it, and especially the ending. I quickly followed that with Boys in the Valley, which has been my favorite books of his so far. Sacculina was amazing as well, because I love weird shit, and this one was just weird and awesome at the same time. I recently read The Autumn Springs Retirement Home Massacre, which didn't thrill me as much as the first three books of his I read. But he is a tremendous author and I love his stuff!

I completely agree, Sir. Philip Fracassi has been the most favored author of mine since I stumbled on his second collection, Beneath a Pale Sky. I don't remember the particular advertisement that put the book and his name in front of me, but I'm very glad to have seen it. Had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Fracassi at Word Horde Emporium on the Boys in the Valley tour. He's a personable gentleman in addition to being a talented author. I appreciate him so much and commend your good taste. Best wishes to you all.

PS: His fourth collection, Traps and Specters: Stories, is publishing in September of this year. I read and reviewed (on GR) an ARC a short while ago. It's very good and recommended to you.

I loved his book Boys in the Valley! That story was awesome and it scared me out my shoes! lol

Then I have read his book: Commodore which is cross between horror/cosmic horror. That story just kept me riveted to my cozy chair. :)
