Tawnya | 4647 comments Ok. I know am going to be mocked (rightfully so) for asking this, but here goes.

You know how we always tell people that such and such cannot be done on the app? Is the term "app" only for smart phones? How about tablets? Laptops? I just looked up the difference between a tablet and a laptop. I would guess tablets are closer to a smartphone than a laptop.

My DESKTOP computer uses the term “app”. My old computers always used “programs”. I did leap across some of the platforms. I went from Windows 7 to Windows 11.

So yeah, I know this is probably a stupid question. But if I do get a laptop, does that mean I won’t be able to volunteer using it?

Martin | 42746 comments With a laptop you can still use the website through a browser and have the same functionality.
I do most of my editing from a tablet and experience few difficulties.

Tawnya | 4647 comments Thank you for answering me since my title was not what I had originally titled it. We lost power, and I had to shut down my computer. Ours ups give us 10 minutes to shut down any electronics. I had my question titled "apps" originally. I guess when I was able to log back in, muscle memory took over. When I saw my name attached to "merge please", I thought I have moved a request to the wrong folder.

I tried out using my Kindle Fire, and it allowed me to edit, so yea! I really didn't think it would work since I only bought it to do a specific website that I needed to use the app to get badges for. The thing has been in a drawer for two years. Needless to say, it was dead.

We are going to have to move to a hotel while they fix our bathroom. A simple leak led to having to replace the floors and walls due to asbestos. So much fun stuff. But at least some of my routine will be intact. I started having panic attacks a few years ago, so I do not leave the house. It is silly how much GoodReads calms me.

Thank you again, Martin.
