At the beginning of June, I will open a pre-readathon challenge with both activities and book reads. One activity is to answer this question. Your help answering this question will help you/others to have information they may need for part of the book-reads challenge.

Question:
Based upon your experience here and other short readathons, what books do you recommend as good options to readers similar to you.

How long a list? Oh one book title helps. Three helps more. Five titles may be a bit much. I know you have read many books that you are excited to share, but we want to give everyone a chance to participate, to have good titles to share themselves.

Important.
I'm looking forward to your suggestions!
Post here first so that we can all easily see your suggestions. Then post where you usually post your updates.

Let the games begin!

Here is a short list of what I so want to share.

1. Rental Person Who Does Nothing by Shoji Morimoto
If I were a bit younger, I might find way to monetize at least some of what Morimoto does for nothing more than costs. There are similar services--Rent-A-Friend.

2. Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day by Winifred Watson
Made into a movie by the same name.

3. The Case of the Missing Marquess byy Nancy Springer
Made into a Netflix movie Enola Holmes (2020)

4. The Body by Stephen King
Made into a movie: Stand By Me

Doni | 123 comments Humankind: A Hopeful History I loved this book because it took studies I was very familiar with and gave them interpretations I had never considered.

Something in the Woods Loves You This is a lovely memoir of the author using nature to treat his depression.

Tracks in the Wilderness of Dreaming About a dream practitioner who consults with an Aborigine dream practitioner. Includes a lot of unusual ideas that I appreciated.

Quick and fun reads are the best for a readathon. You can read them in one sit. Two of my suggestions are, of course, horror. Sorry, non-horror readers….
I suggest:

The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared

Skeleton Crew

The Boys Are Back in Town

Thank you Donny and Vavita. We are recommending to readers similar to ourselves, so thank you!

DarkVintageSoul | 2 comments Horror, thriller and any cozy seems like a good place for read-a-thons. Most of these are fairly short and gripping reads, especially thrillers!

Shutter

The Hacienda

Agnes Aubert's Mystical Cat Shelter
