This was another book I did with the paperback and audio at the same time. And! I annotated a bit as I was reading. Although there is more tabs to start with because I was I getting into the book, I was getting too absorbed in the story.

I can't get enough of this quote: "And not just any science: human science, the study of the body, of man himself, of sinew and bone and humour and blood. The essence of life, the very organs that granted our being, that was the wonder of it all! To unlock the mysteries of human form was to behold God's masterpiece firsthand, and that is what sparked the fire within me for the very first time." YES! This is exactly how I felt getting into healthcare and HOLY CRAP- I love looking at the insides, real and x-ray.

Before I started reading, I thought this would be a dark, macabre story but it was told with light humor. At first it threw me off but that I got used to it and I was also amused by the banter and sheltered ignorance of James. I loved his character growth.

This book threw up a lot of moral points- the gray area of advancement for medical science. And what action is crossing the line. All throughout history and even nowadays, there are debates and blurred lines.

I will definitely be going down several rabbit holes with all the questions and thoughts that have come to mind while reading!
