Hi Jennifer
Yes I found several sources, including Harvard so I have changed to Jefferson. Be aware that this quote is widely attributed to Twain so this may happen again.
This quote “Take the gifts that you are handed both foolish and fine. With time, what is remembered will sparkle like silver wrapped in velvet the deep color of wine.” is from my novel Aphrodite's Swimsuit but is being attributed to another author with my name. How do I correct this error? How do I post quotes in future without having this same problem again? Georgia Scott

I've moved your quote & attributed it to your book.
There are two ways you can make sure your quotes go to you.
* When adding the quote put 3 spaces between your first & last name. Spaces between names is how Goodreads disambiguates authors with the same name.
* Add your quote from this page

The quote "this too shall pass" has been misattributed to Shakespeare's Hamlet in https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/1280...Nothing very close to this phrase appears in the play.
The quote is more reputably identified as being a Persian adage. See
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_to... for a detailed history.

This quote is misattributed to Matisse “There are cathedrals everywhere for those with eyes to see them.”This entry should be deleted:
https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/1245...
The quote is already correctly attributed to Jordan Peterson here:
https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/1240...
And the similar quote actually by Matisse is here:

Hi Liam
This request is a good example about why members should start new threads in this folder, rather than piggybacking on someone else's request.
Firstly, I missed seeing this request until it got another 'piggybacker.' Usually if a librarian sees that there is already a librarian working in this thread they leave it alone. & unfortunately I can't help you as although I think it should be removed I can't remove a quote with this many likes.
Can you start a new thread for this request please. Include in the thread title "Needs a Superlibrarian' or similar?

Please see my response to message #8. As a regular librarian I can't delete this or merge with the correct Matisse quote.
Can you start a new thread for this request please. Include in the thread title "Needs a Superlibrarian' or similar?

is by Thomas Jefferson and not Mark Twain.
Here is a link to one (of many) pages that state this is Thomas Jefferson's quote:
