Reading Schedule

The book (at least my copy) is divided up in a weird way. If yours is divided differently, please let me know and I'll add more information.

Week 1 (July 5-12): Preface - The First Scene, Chapter 9
Week 2 (July 12-19): The First Scene, Chapter 10 - Between the Scenes, Five
Week 3 (July 19-26): The Second Scene, Chapter 1 - The Third Scene, Chapter 2
Week 4 (July 26-August 2): The Third Scene, Chapter 3 - The Fourth Scene, Chapter 4
Week 5 (August 2-9): The Fourth Scene, Chapter 5 - The Fourth Scene, Chapter 10
Week 6 (August 9-16): The Fourth Scene, Chapter 11 - The Fifth Scene, Chapter 1
Week 7 (August 16-23): The Fifth Scene, Chapter 2 - The Seventh Scene, Chapter 2
Week 8 (August 23-30): The Seventh Scene, Chapter 3 - end

The book is free on Gutenberg.org. I really wanted a physical copy, so I ordered one from Thriftbooks.

I read most of the classics as ebooks because the print in older books is so tiny! I have an iPad app called QuickReader (formerly MegaReader). The name comes from the fact that you can time yourself, but you can ignore that option, and just use it as an access for anything in fhe Gutenberg catalog as well as a couple other catalogs. Sometimes they even contain original illustrations. For our recent reads of Dickens, Austen, Trollope, etc. I looked at print books I owned in mass market paperback size and couldn't believe how small the print was and how thin the paper!

Yes, I find that, these days, I have to remove my contact lenses to comfortably read some of these older books. I plan to read a good portion of No Name while traveling, so I guess I'll just have to hold it far away (it's not as bad as some other paperbacks I have)!

Wow! Complicated. I didn't go through every section, but it seems that is the way my Oxford edition is set up. Thanks.

I only just now saw the notification that this group is reading this. I’m anxious for to join. I’ll be listening to the LibriVox audiobook.
I noticed it’s 29 hours long, so I’m glad we have 8 weeks!
Going to start listening today- just downloaded it- so I’ll try to catch up. Glad to be participating with you all.

I have easily finished through chapter 9.
So I’m a little confused about the Week 2 assignment- I don’t understand about starting Chapter 10 and then the schedule says - Five.
I now see that there is some back and forth in time, hence the scenes, but I didn’t see anything in the table of contents that said ‘Five.’
It’s an interesting book so far. I don’t think I’ve read any of Collins’ works before this one.

Ok looking at the next week’s assignment that begins with ‘between the scenes first and second’ I feel like I can figure it out.
