These kids are exactly to audience I am trying to attract. I’m not sure if Summer will be a tad girly for him but I’m considering doing a spin off series for Summer’s older brother/s who are 11 & 13 targeting boys, and having more relatable content for them in it. I would love genuinely to here feed back.
Ideas topics that you guys are experiencing and would like Summer and her brothers to cover in our next adventures.
Whilst you will notice I tag dyslexia, Autism and ADHD. I try very hard for my stories to carry the undertone and the experiences of children who have these strengths in their DNA. But never to label anyone. These books are about true inclusion where we are all brilliant in our own ways and that MUST be celebrated!

POV: You wrote a book for children who say they hate reading 📚
My debut paperback, *I Hate Reading: Museum Signs*, is officially out now.
It’s a funny, chaotic children’s chapter book for ages 8–11, especially reluctant readers, dyslexic readers, neurodivergent readers, and children who find reading tricky or overwhelming.
Think:
✨ bossy museum signs
✨ confusing words
✨ family chaos
✨ a dramatic seagull
✨ a dog called Barney
✨ an eight-year-old narrator with a lot of opinions
This book is for the children who look at a big page of words and think, “Nope. Absolutely not.”
Because reading does not have to be perfect to be fun.
I’d love to connect with BookTok creators, parents, teachers, librarians, SENCOs and readers who support accessible children’s books.
Any Goodreads adds, shares, reviews or support would mean the world 💙
