Hi all,
I thought it might be fun to do a Reading Challenge together :-)

The challenge is called:

AUTHOR CHALLENGE

Here's how it works:

Select one or more authors from the list of nominated authors:

You can even select author(s) you nominated yourself.

Read one or more books per author.

The books can be of any genre.

The books you're reading for other challenges can be used here if they meet all the requirements.

You can choose any of the following challenge types and levels:

Types:

Piece of Cake: Read one book per author.
Walk in the Park: Read two books per author.
Happy Medium: Read three books per author.
Tall Order: Read four books per author.
Herculean Task: Read five books per author.

Levels:

Level 1: One to Three Authors
Level 2: Four to Six Authors
Level 3: Seven to Nine Authors
Level 4: Ten to Twelve Authors
Level 5: Thirteen to Fifteen Authors
And so on.

The challenge duration is one year.

You can set your challenge duration from:

(a) the date you start, or
(b) the 1st of the month you start, or
(c) the 1st of January

You may backdate if you wish.

For example:

If you start the challenge on 16th June 2026 but set your challenge duration from 1st June 2026 to 31st May 2027. Then you can also use the books you read between 1st June 2026 to 15th June 2026.

Or if you start the challenge on 16th June 2026 but set your challenge duration from 1st January 2026 to 31st December 2026. Then you can also use the books you read between 1st January 2026 to 15th June 2026.

Once the year is up, you would have to change the status from "ongoing" to "complete" or "incomplete"—whatever the case might be—and end the challenge.

If you complete the challenge before the one-year deadline then you can change the status and end the challenge on that date only.

Once you've ended the challenge, you can do it again in a new template with a new challenge number.

Please note that you can't use the same author(s) in your next challenge(s).

I thought it might be fun to combine the AUTHOR CHALLENGE with another challenge:

100 AUTHORS CHALLENGE

Here's how it works:

Complete as many Author Challenges as it takes to read 100 nominated authors.

You must finish reading all 100 authors within a maximum of 10 challenges.

The challenge begins on the start date of Author Challenge #1 and ends on the closing date of Author Challenge #10.

However, if you reach your 100-author goal early, your end date will be the final day of that specific challenge.

For example, if you read your 100th author during Author Challenge #6, you can use that challenge's end date as the conclusion of your 100 Authors Challenge.

Once you've completed the challenge, please announce it here, and I'll add your name to the winners list :-)
