Hello! Just wanted to ask if each team will need to finish at least 1 hoard (as in, both the spell out and the 20 gems) a week, or is there no such requirement for this challenge?

There is no weekly minimum for this challenge besides the (optional) dragon challenge. The HOARD spellout and the gems will continue across the whole challenge

For MC is cursed or enchanted...will you accept it if an MC goes into a cursed building and is trapped and has to figure out how to get out?

I would say no, curse has to be on the MC specifically. Otherwise I feel like there's a slippery slope between in a cursed building, touching a cursed sword, going to an enchanted realm, etc. So the curse/enchantment has to direct affect the MC's mind/body in some way

Yes! For any task like that I'll take any English spelling, American or UK

Saige, I'm still a bit confused. Do we spell out HOARD using the bonus tasks? Or do we spell out HOARD with one book and (for example) read another book for one of the bonus tasks? I didn't see a place on the SS to add HOARD so if we do have to read a separate book aside from the bonus tasks (which our team is doing), do we post in ini the thread?

Hello!
So the spellout and bonus tasks are completely separate! Spelling HOARD and then filling it with gems (like the baskets and eggs for the easter challenge) goes on for the whole quarter and doesn't change weekly. If you use a book for the spellout or a gem then you cannot use them for the weekly bonus.
I didn't add HOARD or slots for the gems onto the SS because all of those tasks are repeatable, I just figured we'd need tracking for the weekly tasks because all four of those have to be done to unlock the special ability. Nothing on the SS is official, so don't worry about tracking anything on there unless your team finds it helpful!
Please post all books on the review thread, including HOARD, gems, and bonus tasks - just specify in your post which it's for!

Thanks for the clarification, Saige. :)One more question: for the letters may we use series titles too?

Sure, I think that counts! Especially given the title lol

Hi! Realised I had a ton of questions that came up as I was typing this, so hopefully numbering them helps a bit. They're all mostly related to how a dragon's special ability (e.g. stealing gems, or removing one set of letters for HOARD) will impact the affected team's hoard/gems collection. Take, for instance, if Team A chooses to steal gems from Team B.1) Does Team A get to choose exactly which gems they wish to steal? Or will it be the most recent gems that were added to Team B's hoard that will be stolen, or hose that are worth the most/least points? Also wanted to ask if the stealing means the gems now belong to Team A.
2) For the gems especially, can Team A steal them a completed hoard? If so, does Team B lose the bonus 10 points earned for previously completing their hoard?
3) Similarly, for the letters, since it will be a loss of one H, O, A, R and D, how would it work if some of the letters are taken from a hoard the team previously completed, and the others are taken from the new one the team is working on?
Sorry if it's a lot of (sudden) questions ahah 😅 The game mechanics are definitely interesting, which might also be why I'm overthinking this a little.

Hello! Ok so hopefully I can answer these all clearly:
1. Yes, stolen gems then belong to the team who steals them. However, which gems don't matter because you don't steal the book value for those gems, just the gems themselves. This means that your team is 3 gems closer to a bonus (+10 for every completed HOARD) and the other team is further from a bonus.
2. Yes, you can steal them from a completed hoard, and yes that does mean the team would lose their bonus. They can read to complete the bonus again, but they will have to spend books to do so.
3. When a team loses a HOARD I will remove letters from uncompleted HOARDs first. If I have to take a letter from a completed HOARD then that team will lose the bonus but NOT lose any of the gems. Those gems will essentially be banked until the team completes a HOARD again to contain them.
Some of the abilities are designed to have smaller effects than the others, so it's always your team's choice if you think that special ability is worth reading for that week!

Our new dragon Norberta was just posted but it has a due date of July 12 and today is July 13. When is the actual due date? (Team Fearsome Claws).

I just changed the post on your team's chat, too, but it's the 19th! Sorry for the typo.
Just so you know, the dragons are always due on Sunday night and the new one posted on Monday!

Do words have to be exact matches to count?Ex: looking for "dishonor" in the text and finding "dishonorable"?
I say it counts as long as it contains the word! "Dishonor" is in DISHONORable so it definitely counts
